  1. I think the government should do everything possible they can do to ban and prevent distracted driving because people are not only putting themselves at risk but also other people are being put at risk too. I don’t think it is anyone’s right to put someone at risk. And I believe it is the governments job to prevents people from doing so.

  2. The people of Puerto Rico should be able to vote for the president of the U.S.A because the laws we put in place affect them as much as any other country. Therefore there vote should mean just as much.

  3. If it’s a U.S. territory, it should have a role on what happens in the U.S. The people of Puerto Rico are probably very angry with the United States for not getting the chance to pick the person who will represent their country. My question is, if Puerto Rico will do anything to receive the opportunity to vote this November or years to come.

  4. I think that the education will be better because you can focus easily. Also it will be easier to stay awake because of the physical activity and not having to be staring at a computer screen the whole time.

  5. i think it would be a better because then the kids who want to learn can without all the kids who dont care

  6. I think that this will not make for a better education. The world is being run on computers and if you don’t learn how to use them you will be left behind in life. Teaching kids to do real world thingz is important but technology iz juzt az important.

  7. I think going tech free wouldn’t help because in the real world, everyone uses the internet. It might have helped them in the old days because they didn’t even know what a computer was but not now.

  8. I think he should be transferred out of Afghanistan. I also think he should have his trial held in America for his own safety.

  9. i think he should be transferred them out of there because he did kill 16 civilians and they didn’t do any thing to him and i think it will make problems over there if he does not get transferred out of there.

  10. i think that the U.S marine should have been transported out of Afghanistan. I think this because they will still have problems with him in the future and it wasn’t right for him to kill all of those people. I think the charges should be held in Afghanistan because that is where this happened and if they did that here we would deal with it

  11. yeah i think that they should take him back because he shouldn’t have killed those people because they were just civilians and they were innocent. they should be in the us because he came from there.

  12. I don’t think they should expect for the one who liked all those people. i think it should be held in the US.

  13. Yes, I think that they should take him out of Afghanistan not only because he killed so many people already but because he could start killing more and more people. Knowing that the Marines cannot kill civilians I feel bad for the people who live there because if i were them i wouldn’t feel safe. I think they should hold his trial in the U.S.

  14. I think that the marine should be leaving Afghanistan and should be faced with charges in the U.S. because he’s a U.S. citizen. If he gets a trial in Afghanistan than he’ll be more likely to face worse punishment, even though he might deserve it.

  15. he should be tried in Afghanistan and then be sent hear for his punishments.

  16. I think that he should. I also think that the this should be in the us because he is our troop.

  17. Rare earth materials are not that rare. There are a lot of them but most of them are in China and China doesn’t want to sell them. Rare earth materials are used in new technology like color t.v.’s. I dont think it is fair what china is doing. They should allow the rest of the world to be able to use rare earth materials. I would like to see the U.S get back into this business because it could help boost our economy.

  18. In my opinion, i do believe that the United States military should transfer the homicidal marine back home, because killing Innocent people is wrong and strict punishment should be made, just like we do with alleged criminals. The marines trial should be held in Afghanistan, because that’s were the shooting was and its the Afghanistan’s choice of what to do with him.

  19. I think he should be taken out of Afghanistan. If the victims were terrorists, I doubt he would. But they were civilians. That’s just horrible.

  20. i think the person should be sent back to the U.S. because he killed people and that’s just mean ….. know what i mean. But if the trial is in america they might be a little easier on him… Witch is an unfair advantage an america is all about being equal !!!! so why don’t you people reply to this and tell me what you think about this post THANKS!<3

  21. I think it’s good he was transferred out of Afghanistan because if he would’ve stayed there, he might have killed even more people. I think he should have his trial in the U.S. so that he doesn’t get attacked by other soldiers.

  22. I think the marine that shot and killed 16 people should be transferred out of Afghanistan and into America. If he stayed in Afghanistan he might be killed by someone who was angry at him. The marine also could have escaped and killed more people.

  23. Yes i think he should be transferred out of Afghanistan and should be not aloud in the army any more.

  24. I think that the Marine should be transferred out of Afghanistan and the trail should be held in the U.S. because people there wouldn’t give him a good trial and make matters worse.

  25. yes because he mite do something stopped. at the supreme court.

  26. I do not think that he should leave Afghanistan, he killed 16 people out of cold blood, murder should not be taken lightly. His trial should take place there, going through their court system, but not given harder punishment than someone who is not American,

  27. I think its good that he was transferred out of Afghanistan because he could have gotten out and killed more people. His trial should be held in Afghanistan because that is where he killed the people.

  28. I think that the US marine that shot 16 people should be transferred out of Afghanistan because it isn’t right just to kill some one who has not done anything wrong, and I think that the person who did this needs help because some people in the marines and stuff have post-traumatic stress which causes them to still think that they are fighting and he may have gotten confused.I think that they should test him to see if he has this then they should get him help but if he doesn’t I think that he should get in trouble for murder.I think that they should have this trail in the United States because if they had in Afghanistan they might treat him differently and not give him a fair trial.

  29. I think that he should be transferred out of Afghanistan.I also think that his trail should be held in America rather than there because then people could like find him and possibly kill him for murdering 16 people. He should get in trouble for killing those people because there in no reason he should have.

  30. i do not think that the us marine should be transferred out of Afghanistan because they will kill you and drag you down the road and kill you without even thinking about it. his trial should not get him in trouble and it should be held in the united states because there is not a death penalty besides in a couple of states.

  31. No, because the Marine should be there to help Afghanistan and now they are coming back..?
No I think that they should stay there and help the people there.

  32. i think people should keep creating video games but kids need to stop playing them so much its fun and all but not good for them

  33. I think that the United States army person should be shift out of Afghanistan because it just isn’t right to kill someone that didn’t do anything. An then to make it worse he killed 16 in-ascent people. Yes, he should be charged with murder because if they didn’t go anything to him why shouldn’t he.

  34. I think that the United States should leave Afghanistan. All they do is complain, and they don’t want us over there. They don’t honestly understand how much we help them out, without us it would be a slaughter over there and they would get killed off eventually. I guess the United States should just leave, and let them do their own thing.

  35. Well looking at the severity of the situation, The Military for obvious reasons dose not want to look bad so there going to give him some sort of punishment for show to calm the people in Afghanistan down. On the other hand the military could just make him leave. There is really no telling the outcome on the generic information i have been given plus we don’t know the whole story and probably never will.

  36. I think that the marine should hold trial in America, because Afghanistan would definitely hold a bias opinion, but should definitely be pulled out because killing innocent people is a horrible crime to commit if he did it..

  37. I think that the US solider should get transferred out of Afghanistan. He did something that was way unnecessary, and wasn’t needed by any needs. Now there is new tension, and things are only going to get worse because of this. I believe that he should go to jail for life with no parole. He deserves every bit of it.

  38. I think the U.S marine should be transferred out of Afghanistan for legal reasons. The alleged shooting of 16 people is taken seriously by both countries, Afghanistan and the U.S. Unfortunately, the incident has caused more tension between the feuding countries and that is why I believe sending him out is right. His trial should be held back in the U.S where he can face legal charges.

  39. I believe that the U.S. Marine should be transferred out because of the danger from other angered people. I think that he should be tried since he is a U.S. Marine that did something not accepted by anyone, that he should be held at capitol and in a secure location. On the other hand if he had orders from a commanding Officer, The Commander should be tried for the same and the U.S. Marine should be free.

  40. I think that he should be transferred out of Afghanistan because he murdered 16 civilians and his trial should be held well it doesnt matter unless there is a trial held. And he should be charged for murder. There was no need to kill 16 civilians.

  41. They revealed that the “rare” elements in China aren’t so rare. They can be used for colored tvs, smartphones, and headphones. because the elements can be found in China. They say that China is hoarding the elements. Yes, this can effect the technology industry, because if they don’t have the elements they can’t make their products, or they will have to find a replacement.

  42. In the program, it was revealed that these rare metals used in much of our modern day technology is mined primarily in China, where they have 97% of it. These are used in televisions, smartphones, batteries, etc. In batteries, rare metals are the power source for it. They provide the colors needed in televisions. A small piece can even become an extremely high powered magnet.
I think that China is hoarding these rare metals and could use their abundance of the power source, turning China into a massive superpower. This could be a very bad thing. I certainly believe that this is not fair to any other countries. I think that the United States should do something to gain some control, not too much, over rare metals and their distribution. Too much power is never a good thing.

  43. i think that what they are doing cause maybe people want to make something out of it and if they don’t share how well people be able we use it for the colors of are TV and cellphone and Ipod’s and if we don’t have them then how could we be able to make new things if we don’t have what we need

  44. It was revealed that the ‘rare’ earth elements are not rare. They can be used for colored tvs, smartphones, and headphones. Because they can be found in China. They say that china is hoarding the minerals. Yes, this could effect the technology industry because if they don’t have the mineral, they can’t make their items.

  45. yo bro ❤ this is big D and addison. 😉

  46. Rare earth metals are not rare. China has a ton of rare earth metal which are present in our TVs and cell phones. The elements are mostly used for electronics. I think China is hoarding rare earth metals and that’s bad. It is not fair because they get all of it. The US should just give up because they don’t have a lot of rare earth metals.

  47. they have found rare mineral in china and they don’t want to share it with other countries and 97% of the mineral come from china.why they don’t want to sell it is to other countries because they want to make there own products and then sell them so they can get more money.why every one want some because they make TV ans cell phones and other thing.

  48. Carol said that people think that China is not sharing enough with them and now they have control on how much they get. One guy was talking about making magnets and flat screens and stuff like that.I don’t really know. No I don’t think that its fair for them to own 97% of it,Yes I do think that they should do that.

  49. China owns 97% of the earths rare elements.Other countries think that China is hording them. These elements are used for electronics and stuff.I think it is fair that China owns the elements because they are located in China.I guess i would like to see America get back into this industry

  50. China has 97% of the worlds rare earth minerals, i don’t think that it is far for the u.s and other country’s and other places around the world. it doesnt really bother me if the united states gets back in the industry

  51. It said that rare earth elements aren’t actually rare, I thought this was very interesting because they have such a misleading title. They can be put in smartphones and TV’s and a lot of other modern things from today. I think they are calling the shots with rare earth elements. I think that it is fair because they just got really lucky with their location. I want us to make trillions, I don’t care how we do it.

  52. The information I saw on the CNN blog today was that the rare metals are not actually rare. China is the leading producer of the metals. They produce 97% of all metals. These metals are used for cell phones, TV’s and many other products. I think China should send out more of the metals so other countries can have just as fair of a chance to make the products. I would like to see the United States make more products because it will help us get out of debt and let us get our products in other counrties.

  53. In this episode, they said that China has most of earth’s rare resources being dug up. But, international Unions say that the Chinese are hoarding these resources. We use these metals in many electronics like in TVs. The metals make the colors. I think that China should not own as much as 97% of the rare earth metals. The US should peacefully join with other Unions to try to come up with an agreement with the Chinese.

  54. ld you like to see the United States try to get back into this industry if possible

  55. The rare minerals have been found in China, with these minerals China is not willing to share them with other countries. The rare minerals are used for technology. For us to see color on a t.v. screen we use rare minerals, cell phones and a lot more! I think this is there choice because they are the ones that own this and if they dont want to share then we have no right to say anything about it, yeah it would be nice if they shared. I honestly think that the United States has any chance at getting back at the industry.

  56. It’s their stuff they don’t need to share.

  57. i don think China should be able to do what they are trying to do because they are trying to make more money off of people when the world should try and help people out. i think it is fare as long as the don’t raise the price and as they keep giving it to people and not keeping it to them self yes i would like to see they try and get back into that because then we can keep to our self and not need china for that resource

  58. The information about the rare earth metals is that China is keeping them for themselves so that they can make money from them instead of giving the metals away. Some uses for the metals are helping to make color in TVs, smart phones, iPod’s, batteries, and more. I think that what China is doing is selfish. I don’t think that it’s fair that they have 97% of it. I would like to see the U.S. try to get back into the industry.

  59. i think that if china wants to keep all the minerals they should have the same rights that we do.
if they gave them all away they should expect something that they can make like Tv’s of computer.
i think that china should not have the only source of this stuf

  60. Rare earth metals are used in our phones and TVs. Even though they are called rare, they really aren’t rare at all. I think that Chine should be able to do whatever they want with the metals because they are found in China and they shouldn’t be forced to give them away. I think it is fair that China owns 97% of the metals because that is where they are found. Its not their fault that they are found there. I think that the US should try to get back into this industry because we use the metals almost everyday.

  61. some information about it is that there is a surplus of it. some uses can be in tvs or electronics of that kind. i don’t think its very fair that china has almost all the minerals owned because i the us is in a lot of debt right now and it could help us out. other than that, i don’t really think you can do anything about it.

  62. China has found rare minerals and doesn’t want to share them with other countries. They want to sell them and make more money. The use for these elements are for batteries, and electronics. I don’t think that China should get all the resources because that is 97% in the world. I don’t think it’s fare to the rest of the countries. I would like to see the U.S. go back into the industry.

  63. It said that we need a lot of earths rare metals. We use them in tv’s. There is because china wants to make there own things. They want the metals. I think it could because we need these things.

  64. I think China should not have to share their elements because it is their land in the first place. They said the metals weren’t as rare as they sounded so it shouldn’t be a problem for other countries to find them. Of course China wouldn’t want to share them because they want to be able to produce their own products.

  65. I think that what they are doing is wrong , so that they can own basically all of the metal industry . I don’t think that it is fair for them to own 97% of the rare earth minerals because , i don’t think that they need that much to just themselves . Yes , i would like to see them get the minerals back so that the rest of the world can get the technology and other things technical back .

  66. The information that is relieved during the report is that China is not willing to share with everyone else. Some uses for these elements is for color TVs, phones, Ipods, batteries, and others. I don’t think what China is doing is fair that they own 97% of all the rare earth metals. I would like to see the US to get involved with this because then it is another way for the country to start and make money again.

  67. China has a high percentage of our minerals that are mined. They are used for cell phones, T.V’s, ETC. They are able to help magnets that smaller and are just as powerful. I don’t think China should be mining these minerals because they are so rare and there is a limited amount. This could lead to us depending on these magnets and once we do, what happens if we run out? Then what?

  68. My opinion is that China needs to share and really just incorporate some teamship into their country. If it is that country wants to make money off items made from this material thats fine. But they still should sell it to other countries so they can make items also. I do not think America should try to compete with the industry because they would have to use a lot of land to do this.

  69. What China is doing is smart but they are being real greedy not sharing it with no one. Its not cool to keep all for themselves if they shared many people could use it to make things. I would wan the United States to get back in the industry but i think it would cause to much controversy and maybe a lot of fights.

  70. China has a high percentage of our rare minerals that are mined. They are used for cell phones, T.Vs and more. They can help make magnets that are smaller and just as powerful etc.v I dont think that china should be mining these minerals because they are so rare and there is only a very limited amount of this and wants we use it so much we will depend on it and eventually run out. I dont think that the U.S should be mining this minerals just because it can and will be bad for the earth.

  71. The information on rare earth metals was about how China is “not sharing” its rare earth metals. Some rare earth metals are . In my opinion i think it is fare that China can keep all its rare Earth metals. I think that the U.S should start trying to produce more metals if possible instead of complaining.

  72. We found out that even though they are called rare earth elements, they are not actually very rare at all. And China owns 97% of the worlds rare metals. They can be used in batteries, phones, t.v’s and many electronics that we use. I don’t believe that it is very fair what they are doing. Everyone should have access to natural earth elements.

  73. I don’t mind that China controls 97% of Our Earth minerals. But i do think that The United states should participate in the manufacturing of these minerals that we use in our daily lives.

  74. Rare elements are used to make things like televisions, smart phones, etc. I think what China is doing is a little bit unfair. With them not giving the U.S. the rare earth, and them being able to make a larger profit. I think the U.S. should try and get them back because China is taking the elements from the factories who need them. If the U.S. doesn’t get these rare elements back, i think it will effect us greatly.

  75. I think that it is unfair that China owns 97% of the rare earth minerals. If they have all of the minerals and no one else has will be able to make any profit. I would really like the United States to distribute rare earth materials to other countries and areas because it could bring in money.

  76. I think that China is hoarding these minerals so that they can control the world’s consumption of them and make loads of money. I think that it’s complete rubbish that China has more than 97% of our world’s rare minerals. I think that the U.S should strive toward getting back in this market but first they need to focus on bigger issues plaguing the U.S right now. I think the U.S should start to ban China’s minerals from the U.S or make a trade agreement with them.

  77. I think that what china is doing with these rare minerals is wrong. These minerals are used to make color TV and cell phones and batteries, but if they hog all of these minerals then they will most likely be ahead of us in the electronics industry. I think it would be in america’s best interest to get back in this industry, because then we could have more advanced technology to make people more enlightened.

  78. i don’t like what China is doing because they are trying to make all of the companies who need these elements to move their factories to china. I don’t think that when china was found they had any idea what the minerals were so it was their luck. i don’t want to see the U.S. try to get back into the it because it may start a war with China

  79. China makes 97% of all rare earth metals. and they want to start making stuff with them and sell the objects instead of just selling the material. This made many counties furious. some uses for these elements are color t.v, phones, radio, light bulbs, etc. i don’t think its fair that they own 97% of the minerals so what would be a problem of just selling the minerals. they’re just gunna make money off it anyways…

  80. I think they are trying to be smart and make more money. Its not really fair that they own that much of a supply that they whole world needs. Yes because it is an alterinitve reasourse

  81. I think it is fair to OWN them, but i do not feel that they need to be hoarding them now. I do think the US should try to get them back. I think that what we could do to make them start giving them to us again is to begin paying them an amount, or a little bit higher amount if we already pay, for the metals.

  82. I don’t think its fare that china is abusing the rare earth minerals i think the us should get back into it. It could make a lot of money and i think it could boost are economy

  83. I think that China is not doing the right thing, because people probably don’t even want China’s products. They want to make their own and China can not use all of the rare earth minerals, so they should just let others have some. I don’t think it’s fair that they have 97% of the rare earth minerals, but that’s just how it turned out. I think America should get back into this industry.

  84. My opinion is China shouldn’t be holding 97% of the minerals because that makes very little for the rest of the world. This doesn’t seem fair and I can see why the U.S. and other countries want a bigger percentage. I would want to see the United States get more of these minerals because it may be able to help make more jobs and the items made with these minerals will be less expensive.

  85. I think that it is unfair and that China could keep all that rare minerals to themselves. They should share and not keep everything to them selves. And yes, i would like to see United States get back into the industry if possible.

  86. Rare minerals are found in excess in China and yet they are holding them to themselves and making the things we want to make with these minerals. They then sell the finished product back to us at higher price. I don’t see the problem with this. We can’t force China to give us what they have in their country. If they choose not to sell minerals to us why should they have to?

  87. I think China is trying to make money by what they are doing. But it is not fair that they own 97% of earths rare materials. They should share the materials with other countries because aren’t countries suppose to help each other out? Also i think the U.S. should bet back in the industry because we need those materials.

  88. I think what China is doing isn’t fair to us because our economy is already bad and we don’t need to use more money on things from China to make it worse. I don’t think it is fair because they are just hoarding all of the materials and they most likely won’t make the items that they said they will and if they do they will keep hoarding those to. I would like to see the U.S. get back into this business so then we would not have to buy all of the resources, we would just have them so then we can make all of our own products.

  89. They are hoarding earth’s materials because the materials are on their land. I don’t think it’s that fair that they’re hoarding earth’s materials because we all live on the same planet, and it seems just selfish that they would hoard the materials like that. I would like to see America getting back into this industry, it could bring us new discoveries and technologies if we did and would save us all a lot of money.

  90. i think that china shut share the resonant

  91. Rare minerals have been found China and they are not willing to share them with other countries because they say that they want to produce their own products and sell them for more money. These rare materials are used for many different kinds of technology and to advance. We use them for the colors on TV screens, cell phones, ipods, ect. I don’t think it’s very fair that they are not sharing these resources but they do own it and we don’t have any rights to it so there really isn’t anything we can do about it. It would be nice is they shared though so wecould advance technology wise.

  92. These materials are being hogged by China and they are making us but the goods like cellphones, tv, and light bulbs. I think that this is unfair and China should not be doing this because now we have to pay for all the goods that they are trying to sell us. If we got all of these materials and went into this industry it might help our national debt and maybe we would get some money back that we have lost by not having to pay for the shipping and the price of the goods.

  93. They said that 97% of rare earth metals that are found in China, are being hordered by the Chinese. But China is supposed to ship some of the metals out to the United States so that we can use them for stuff like smart phones, hybrid cars, military wepons, etc. In my opinion, i dont think its fair that China keeps the metal, but those elements are found in their country, so its not really fair for us to take it.

  94. Carl told me that 97% of the worlds rare minerals are in china and china does not want to share more minerals then the international trade requirement because they want to make they own products and sell them for more money. they minerals are used for battery’s and cool phones. i don’t think it is fair that china is not sharing even though the us does not drill there own oil to give. short story short the U.S wants to receive not give. AMERICA!!!

  95. It says that almost all of Earth’s rare elements are in China and that they are hording them. They use these for color TV’s, phones, and batteries. I don’t know what China is doing, but they shouldn’t own almost all of Earth’s rare resources. I would like to see the US go back into this business.

  96. That china is keeping all the elements and making t.v and other electronics. Then they will sell them for more money instead of just giving the resources away. I think that china should not have all 97% of the resources and yes are country should get back into it.

  97. It said that china had most of Earth’s rare materials. They hold 97% of Earth’s rare materials. Some countries think that china is hoarding these materials.
Uses for these elements are cell phones and television screens and other technology items. I would like to see the united states get into this industry because if something happens to china, we would still have these rare materials. i sort of think that china is smart to keep most of the rare materials because i’m pretty sure that china is making good money from this industry.

  98. The earth elements can be used for making anything electronic. I don’t think they should keep all of it to them self’s but they do make about 99% of everything in america so they should keep most of it.

  99. They are found in China and they are very expensive. They can be used for needed fuel mainly. I think its perfectly fair that China has all these materials because no one decided where these would go they just happen to be in China. Yes it would be okay if the United states got back into this industry!

  100. The rare earth metals are not rare anymore. they use them for electronics like a TV, batteries and phone. I think that they should ship some of it since they have 97% of it. The United States should try and get into the industry so they don’t have to rely on China all the time. The United States should also get some.

  101. 97% of the worlds rare minerals are located in China. China is being accused of hording them but China says that they are meeting international trade requirements. These elements are used in about anything that deals with technology. They give you television color and picture, help power batteries, and other electronics. I think that what China is doing is smart, but at the same time other countries need these resources and want them raw.

  102. the information was that the Chinese are keeping the rare materials. i don’t mind that they are doing this because the Chinese are doing a good job of making out things today. i think America should start to get back into it because if they do maybe america will descover how to make like a super super HD plasma flat screen.

  103. I think that it is unfair that china owns 97% of the earths rare minerals. It would be nice to see the U.S. own some more of the minerals. They use some of the minerals for technology. I think that the U.S. should try to get minerals from China

  104. The rare metals, will they weren’t that rare and there were able to be found really easy in china. These metals were mostly used for t.v.s and phones. China is having a debate about how they wont give them up. Other country’s want to have china share and give some away. If we got are hands on them we might have over more than we need in things.

  105. that china has most rare earth products and that THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE THINGS with them and then sell them

  106. i think chinas trying to make money now that they figured out they could actuallt use it for that no i dont and no i dont

  107. It said that China is trying to make things out of the rare elements, instead of just giving us the raw elements. The elements are used in electronics today, they can be a really powerful battery, or they can be in phones and plasma t.vs. I don’t think that it is good for us in America, or in other companies, but I think it as pretty smart of them because they can make more jobs and they also get more money. I think that the U.S. should try to get back because it could really create more jobs for us in America, and the unemployment rate would go down.

  108. Rare metals are used for making things like t.vs, batteries and smart phones. China has the most of these metals, but they are said to be hoarding them. they don’t want to share them anymore and they want people to pay more then what they really should. its not really fair what they are doing because it will probably make the price of electronics go way up. i think that the US should try and get involved with these rare metals so we don’t have to worry about what China is going to do

  109. What the information was that China is hording most of the material and they want to try to make a profit off it. The uses are in all high tech equipment computers T.V.’s smartphone any of the new tech gear. I do not agree with the Chinese method for it is greedy and selfish.

  110. The report stated that China held about 97% of earths rare materials that are used in/ or to make electronics. Some of those electronics are: Phones, phone batteries, televisions, etc. I think it would be good for the U.S to get back into that industry, our country could make alot of more money by doing this, and we could use our own materials to make/ function own belongings.

  111. Rare minerals aren’t really rare. They are actually very plentiful. Rare minerals are used in our technology. It’s used for our touch screens, flat screen t.v.’s and light bulbs. I think that it isn’t fair what China is doing. They have 97% of the minerals and they decided to keep the minerals, use them, and then sell them to us for more than what it costs. If they have 97% of the rare minerals, they should have plenty to share with the rest of the world. I think that the United States should get back into this industry because China is being selfish and not sharing their resources.

  112. Today in the CNN news they said that there is 17 types of rare earth minerals. They’re found in smart phones, T’Vs or any other high tech electronic. China makes all of these things for us, and I think it is fair for them to have them. Without China we wouldn’t get all of these high tech electronics. It doesn’t really matter to me if they get back into the industry or not.

  113. Rare earth metal aren’t actually rare. These metal are used in modern technology. We suspect China might hoarding a large portion of these rare metals. They also stopped selling most of these metal and instead are selling the technology with the metals. Other countries say China can’t do this, but China says they’re following the rues. This could effect the technology industry because American made technology might become more expensive.

  114. It says that they aren’t really rare materials it is mostly found in china they don’t just sell the product they sell it in products like colored tv’s and phones, military weapons and usually electronics. i don’t think its fair but it is founded in china so they really don’t have a choice that they have it there but i think they should ship some of the materials or elements to america because its not fair that they have 97%.

  115. china wants to keep the stuff to make things themselves. they could make tvs and they can make smart phones. china is greedy and wants to get a better prophet.
the people are trying to solve it. this could effect the tech companys.

  116. the rare earth material is in china and there not really rare and there used in our electronics.cell phones or batteries in electric cars. i don’t think its fair but i must live with this and yes i would like to see the us get back in this.

  117. it is revealed that china has 97% of rare materials. some uses for those elements are colored tv’s, headphones, batteries, magnets, cellphones, etc. i think what china is doing is wrong because we need those materials to make stuff. which means i don’t think its fair that they have 97% of rare materials. yes so we can make stuff.

  118. Revealed in CNN is that the “rare” elements are very common and they are used in smart phones and tvs Etc. in my opinion china is being selfish and should share if they have most of the elements but there keeping it and its not fair.

  119. China is hoarding a ton of the Earth’s rare materials. China has 97% of the materials. China does not want to share any of the materials that they have. They do not want to let others to us their materials or objects. They are using these materials for electronics; television, phones, and the batteries. I think the United States should try and fight for these materials, but they will not do that.

  120. The rare materials are found in china, that they have been hoarding. some uses for the “rare” materials are to power technology such as phones, computers and televisions. i think its bad that china is hoarding the rare materials they should share them. no i don’t think that its fair that they have 97% of the rare materials. yes.

  121. The rare earth elements information that was revealed was that they are not rare. The elements can be used for any type of electronic to power the battery. I think that China should share their rare earth minerals. The United States should try to get back the metals.

  122. The blog said that China is hoarding all of the “Rare” materials. I don’t really care, considering they make everything we buy. So why should we worry? I saw in the news a bit ago that if an iPhone was made by the United States, it would be over $1,000.

  123. It says that these rare earth’s are hard to find and that they are found in small quantities. We learned that these rare earth’s are used for many technological devices that we use. I think what China is doing is abusing their power because they’re just trying to make money by scamming other countries into buying their products because they won’t let them make their own. I think the U.S. should go over to China and start digging the rare earth’s out if China won’t let us buy them from them.

  124. They said that China owned rare elements. Some uses for these are colored televisions, batteries, and cell phones. I think that it is a little unfair they own 97% of the rare minerals, and should share with the rest of the world. I would like to see the US get back into the industry because it could possibly help out the economy and bring in profit.

  125. They said that China is holding most of the resources. These resources include stuff to make electronics. For example, television, phones, etc. I think that America should start their own industry with stuff like this, so we aren’t always asking China for stuff, and we can stop relying on them so much.

  126. i think it is bad that china has control of 97% of rare materials and they are controlling how they distribute them. China is keeping the materials and making items like televisions, smart phones and other new technology items you need these materials. i dont think it is good to be getting all of these materials out of the ground because when they are gone they will never come back.

  127. the rare earth minerals are use to make smart phones and electronics and I think that China dose need to share its rare metals more but it also we need to start mining for our own because if we don’t mine for our own they can cut us off at one point and we wont have any rare minerals at all and we wouldn’t be able to support the large growth of electronic stuff we need to have to support our country

  128. Rare earth metals aren’t actually rare. These metals can be used in most modern technology. China is hoarding the 97% of materials it digs up and many countries are upset over this but China says it is following international standard. I think that China has a right to do whatever as long as they follow the rules.

  129. I think China is unfair and should slow down a bit, and let us have more of the material so that we don’t have to buy everything from China. I would like to see the United States get back in the game.

  130. Rare earth metals are not rare, but are not found in large quantities. Some uses are smart phones and flat screens. I don’t think that China is doing anything wrong, it just so happens that they have those materials. I think that if the U.S. has any metals we should mine them, for jobs, but to get them in a way not harmful to the environment.

  131. They said that the materials that were supposed to be rare aren’t so rare after all. The materials are made to make objects such as the iphone or T.V.s and the materials are very useful.

  132. i don’t like it we will have to pay more for cell phones. i don’t know

  133. china is keeping 97% of the earths rare matericals. plasma tvs and cellphones. i think if they dig them up they have the right to keep them if they did all the work.

  134. The information about rare Earth metals that were revealed is that they are not rare. Some uses for these elements are flat screen TVs, smart phones, headphones, etc. I don’t think it’s fair what China is doing and the United States should try to get some Earth metals themselves.

  135. the rare earth materials that were shown , were said to be able to make batteries, TVs, and other electronics. china wants to reduce the amount of materials that they give away, because they want to make products with the earth materials, then sell the things that they make with it. They will also make more money off it.

  136. They said that China is hoarding all of the earth’s rare materials. so they have 97% of them. China has all these but doesn’t want to share and when they do they make people pay way more than they should. They use these elements for electronics such as television, phones, and the batteries in the these items. Maybe so there isn’t fights and stuff about this topic the United States should try and get into this industry so they don’t have to rely on China. And then the United States could also have some.

  137. Rare earth metals are not rare at all. Some uses for this element are smart phones, headphones, tv etc. What China is doing is wrong because they are taking all the rare minerals.

  138. The rare earth metals are not really rare. These elements are used for smart phones and flat screen television. China does not want to give other countries the elements anymore. China said they are giving way the amount the government requires but other countries disagree. I think it will not effect the technology industry because China will make them and other countries always buy from China.

  139. They told us that china has about 97% of earths rare minerals, but can be found almost everywhere. These elements are mainly used for making electronics of all sorts. People believe that China is not shipping out and sharing enough of these to other countries. People say that they are not sharing enough of these resources, but China says they are shipping the standards. I don’t think that this will effect the technology industry because most of the stuff comes out of China anyways.

  140. China has 97% of the rare metals on the earth. They should give them up more other than in the television screens, Ipods, batteries, and many more electronics. They could make money on this rare metal so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t share it other than through products they sell. I think that China is doing this so that we will not make more products that are from the US and we will have more products that are from China.

  141. China has most of the rare earth minerals even though there not really rare. 97% of the earth minerals is located in China. China should share the rare earth elements more because other places are in need of the same materials that they have. I know that they share out but at very high prices. We use the resources for coloring on modern day technology. I think that this does in fact affect the technology in the U.S. because if we had the resources we wouldn’t need to wait for the shipment to come in.

  142. The rare earth metals are the metals on the bottom of the periodic table. China has most of these elements. These elements can be used for electronics like TVs, phones, ipods, etc. China is being unfair by not giving the materials to the US and other nations. I think that if china own 97% of the materials then they should share some of them. If they don’t share China could be the only country making electronics. Yes I would like to see the United States get back into the industry.

  143. China has all most all of are rare earth materials about 97 percent of it. I think that they should share this with other countries, because its not very fair to all the other countries.I think that if they shared with us are economy would go up and do much better. We use these rare earth materials in phones, computers, TV and more.

  144. china has all the materials and they do not want to give them away because they want to keep them for themselfs and they just want to make there own material and they would like to stop giving it to other countrys.

  145. I think that china is being completely selfish on the fact that they will not share their rare materials with the rest of the world. These materials are used in our everyday lives. they want to use the materials to make their own products to sell for their own profits.

  146. They reveal that there are rare materials in everything electronic like phones, computers and other things. The uses of the elements are to power electronics like using batteries for your phone. China is involved because they are hoarding all of the elements and making things to ship out of China. This could possibly effect the technology industry. By china hoarding all of the rare materials we wont be able to get the electronic that they make. Its not fair to keep all of the materials to themselves.

  147. The information that is revealed about rare earth elements is that China has most of them. Some uses of these rare earth elements are color TV and smart phones. There is controversy because they don’t want to give up their rare earth elements.China and other countries have addressed this by saying that they would give them the products but not the materials.Yes, because they can make more electronics than we can.

  148. Some facts about the rare earth minerals is that it’s not really rare. Japan carries 97% of the minerals and they are deciding that they don’t want to sell the minerals, they want to make something with them, then sell them for more money.
They use the elements for like phones, computers, t.v.’s, and more.
I think that it isn’t fair that China has almost all the minerals because they should even it our between countries. They said they are even hording it, and if there is that much then they should be willing to give countries what they need and let them manufacture their own things.

  149. They revealed that the rare elements found in China are needed for all new technology and China has at least 97% of the rare elements. I think that China shouldn’t be able to sell it for a higher value. But we can’t force them to share. Even though i think they should we can’t force them and that’s how it’s going to be.

  150. Since China has almost all of the earths rare materials, i think they should share them with us so we can also make our own products too. Theres controversy with China because there not letting us have any of their products and we need to be able to make important things also. This could affect the electronic industry because now not everyone can make their own technology so China will be getting all of the money for high paying products and other countries will be getting no money for it.

  151. The information that is said about these elements is that China wants to make products with them so that they can make money off of them. These element aren’t really rare. The elements are used to make electronics all over the world.

  152. They say that China has 97% of the worlds rare elements but they would rather keep it and make stuff for them to sell then give some to others countries that could also use the money. These elements can be used to make smart phones, colored tv’s, i pods, and other electronics. I don’t think it’s fair how China is keeping all the elements to itself, and it should give some to the united states because we have done a lot for them and they need to do more things in return.

  153. According to today’s CNN report, China owns 97% of rare earth metals. The United States and other countries have accused China of hoarding these elements because they haven’t been selling the elements, instead they have been using them to make products to sell for a larger profit which isn’t fair for the U.S. and other countries. These elements are used in all sorts of electronics and batteries. I would like to see the United States get into the industry so that products might be cheaper.

  154. china has all of the earths natural rare materials. they is a fight between the countries with china because they do not want to share the materials that the rest of the world needs to have. they have acknowledged this by telling all of the other countries that we need the materials.

  155. They told us that China contains 97% of all the rare earth metals. China is said to be hording the metals and giving out less of them to the countries buying them. Rare earth metals are used in technology like phones, televisions, computers, and some video games. I don’t think that it is fair for the Chinese to be keeping the metals. It is not in our power to have the metals on our land. It was just a stroke of luck that China has great amounts of rare earth metals. I would like to see the U.S. back in the business because it will lessen the debt because we will be able to produce things to make up the money.

  156. China has 97% of the rare earth materials, that aren’t actually rare. Some uses for these elements would be to make types of technology such as smart phones and TVs. I believe that what China is doing is not fare for the US because instead of them just selling us the earth materials to make our own products, they are keeping the materials to make new products to sell to us for more money than the earth materials.

  157. China has 97% of the earths rare earth materials. They use these elements for batteries and other electronic things.China isn’t giving out as much as they should. I think that this could effect the technological industry because China would be making all the electronics and selling them instead of giving the material out so others can make their own electronic things.

  158. China has a lot of the rare materials on earth, some countries think that China is keeping all of them so they can make more money from other countries like the US. These elements are in phone batteries, TV screens, and more. My opinion on what China is doing is that they should give other countries the materials so that is far. I don’t think that is far that they have 97% of the rare materials.

  159. It tells you that rare earth metals aren’t really rare, they are actually common because they are used for colored tv’s and other cool new HD stuff. It also tells you that china is sort of hoarding these elements because they supply 97% of these elements. China says that they are wanting to make the televisions and other uses for these elements right in China then supply those things to us for a higher price, and everyone does not agree with that. I think they are wrong, they should share the elements because what they are saying by this is that they want to be the control of all manufacturing. I think it is fair that they own 97% of all the earths minerals but they should hoard them they should share. Because they don’t own them personally they only own them because its made in their country. Yes i think i may like to see the united states get more involved with the minerals because then they can own some share and have a higher power then what we have.

  160. China produces 97% of the rare earth minerals. Some uses for these elements are pretty much all the electronics like TV and to power a battery. I believe that it is fair to sell them for money instead of just giving them out because they have them and they are not entitled to anything else.

  161. i think that this is sad that china needs to try to git all the products its like it wants to sale everthing to ever one like a huge store why do they feel like they need to do ever thing for the earth and y dont we make anything to sale to china

  162. In this program it informs you that China has most of these rare metals, which isn’t very rare at all. People use them in their ever day lives for such things as TV’s, smart phones, battery’s, etc. It doesnt seem very fair that they have 97% of the elements and their not willing to share it with countries like the US, they only allow a limited amount. It seems kind of shady that they want to make our supplies and not give us some of the elements.

  163. the information released about rare earth metals states that 97% of all rare earth is found in china. it also is saying that some country’s think china is hoarding it because of the limited exports. the elements are used for virtually every new technology out such as iPod’s, smart, phones, computers, cars, etc.

  164. I think that China is being greedy. I don’t think it is fair for them to have most of the rare earth metals because then they will get allot of profit. I think that the US should try to get them to give some of it up or we can open up own mines here.

  165. China has a lot of the rare earth metals on earth. They should share them with the like the U.S. like they were before instead of using them to make there own stuff then sell that. Even thought it is there land that they own they should share the metals because there is not a lot any were else.

  166. I think that what they are doing is right, China just wants to make money. If we had these rare metals i would bet are country would have to do the same. It’s no unfair that they have 97 percent of the rare metals of the world, it’s just where the country is.

  167. As it turns out, China owns about 97% of the worlds’ Rare Earth Elements. While China is a massive nation, so of course they need a lot, 97% is a bit excessive. Additionally, on a side note, the “rare” earth elements aren’t so rare. These are used mostly in electronics. Many other nations including the United States disagree with China’s hoarding of these materials. It could affect the technology industry in that if the United States increases Rare Earth Material production increases in places other than China, the price of technology could go down.

  168. I think we should be able to purchase some of the metals because if they want to make money off there resources sell them cause it would save money for all give them money and we use the resources we have bought to make the goods that are wanted.

  169. China has about 97% of the rare earth materials in their possession. They used to not sell as many but they undercut all the other companies and put them out of business. Now they want to horde all their materials for themselves instead of selling them. These materials are used for electronics like TV, ipods, batteries, and many other items. They just want to use the materials and produce items for themselves then sell the end product.

  170. Rare Earth Metals are what are used to power our high-tech devices like our smart-phones, tvs, and other things. I think it is not fair that China has ownership of 97 percent of the Earth’s rare minerals that our world wants so desperately. If it is possible, I would like to see the United States take part in this industry.

  171. I think China should share some of the earth metal. We could use it for weapons, and electronics. I do not think that it is fare they own so much earth metal, and yes, id like to see the u.s. get back in the industry.

  172. They say how the materials are put into electronics and can be used for other things. It can be used for phones and magnets. China is holding all of the resources from everyone else and not selling them as the resources but using them to build electronics and selling them for more money. I do believe they are holding 97% of it. Also I would like to see America get in it because it would improve the economy and offer more jobs.

  173. I think that China should let other people have some of the minerals and the United States should get back in the industry.

  174. China is a major area that contain 97% of the worlds rare earth metals right below the surface. These metals are what make up many of our high tech devices that we use everyday. Everyone thinks that they are hoarding the metals for themselves but they are actually going to build the devices first and then sell them for a higher value.

  175. That they arent actually rare. And some of them are used for screens on phones and television screens. I think its unfair and that China should give us some. I would like it.

  176. I understand why they want to keep the metals but other have been depending on these metals to build this new technology. No, I don’t think it is fare because other people need these metals as well. Yes, because we need the metals as much as they do.

  177. They’re not actually rare, but China holds 97% percent of it. And China is completely taking advantage of it. They’re using the elements to create electronics like tv’s and cellular devices.

  178. Rare metals, that are found in China, aren’t really that rare. The uses for these elements are in phones, t.v’s, and many other electronics. I think that China should share the elements because they’re being selfish. Everyone knows that almost everything is made in China, like phones, well, now we know why.

  179. China has 97% of all the rare earth materials and I don’t think it’s fair that they are keeping it for themselves. They should allow other countries to use the materials. i think that the US would get invalid because we use a lot products phones and headphones.

  180. In the program it said rare earth metals are used in televisions, colored tv, batteries. We basically use them for technology. I think that it’s fair what China is doing. They’re utilizing their resources to their advantage and the United States shouldn’t force them to share what they have when they do the exact same thing.

  181. The earth elements are not really rare. We use these elements for color t.v,smart phones and batteries. I don’t believe its fare that their hording almost all the elements. I don’t think they should be able to keep all them and then sell them for more money.

  182. The information about earth materials shares that china is being exporting more than they should. They are used for things like phone batteries. I don’t think it’s fair that china owns so much of the materials, the united states should make them a deal or something.

  183. I don’t really care what China is doing. It’s their business what they do and it’s not directly effecting me. I mean, it would be nice if they shared some of the resources but they really don’t have to. They discovered them, so they should be able to do what they want with them.

  184. China has almost all of the rare earth materials, which are not really rare. They have 97% of them. Although they come from China I think they should share these with the other countries because it is not fair if they get them all. They use these rare materials from electronics, for example to power a battery. I would like to see United States, if that would be possible, get into the industry so maybe we could receive some rare earth materials.

  185. The information that is released about rare earth materials are used for many different things. There is some like cars, smart phones, and many other things. My opinion about China using all the materials is, i think it isn’t fair because they already have a good country going, over here in the US we have people who are living poorly. If we got some of the materials, we most likely could get our economy up. But China is a selfish country & just wants to keep the rare materials for himself.

  186. I think that in a way it is there right to use there minerals how they want to, but it does seem unfair that they are using this completely to the advantage of them self and have spiked up the price, and might stop selling there stuff 😐 . we need those minerals in many technologies like phones, computers, and telvision. That is NOT cool of the Chinese.

  187. China currently owns 97% of rare earth materials that are used to make things like the color in TVs, powerful magnets and many other things. I think that China shouldn’t own such a high percent of these materials and if possible the US should get back in this industry.

  188. I think that China trying to hold on to all the rare elements and produce items and sell them out. I think its fair that they own them, because its they’re land, but they can’t hold onto everything, they have to sell them. If we can get in the industry without conflict it could be in our best interest.

  189. China has 97% of all the rare earth materials and I don’t think it’s fair that they are keeping it for themselves. They should allow other countries to use the materials. I think the U.S. should try to get back into the industry so the materials are more equally shared.

  190. the rare earth metals are used in almost everything tv’s phones computers beats.we could use these elements to creat small engines for aircraft.they want to sell them for a major price. by saying thay are not breaking the limit of keeping a big amount

  191. The Rare Materials are used in allot of technological devices. And China has most of it.
    IPhones, Laptops, Tv’s
I think China shouldn’t take it all. America helps china ALL the time. And they are just going to stop giving us materials? I understand that its on their land but they need to learn to share. Sharing is caring!

  192. is info is that china is 97% of the world that makes this rare element. some of the things that you use with this in them are tv, phone, labtops. because they have a lot of it there.

  193. The materials are found mostly in china and are used for modern day technology. I think that it is unfair that they have the most and we should get back in that industry. We need more jobs so there’s another way to do that

  194. that china is keeping rare earth materiels to themselves, cell phones, tv’s, weapons, and alot more, i think that china is being selfish but they should keep it so they can make more tv’s and stuff, no i do not think it is fair, yes i would like the united states to try to get back in the industry.

  195. The Information that was said about the rare earth metals is that they’re actually not rare. some uses for these elements are that they’re used in all sorts of electronics. I think that China should give up some of the rare earth minerals to other counties so they’re not the only ones who have it.

  196. The rare earth metals revealed in the video are not rare at all. China is making them into products and are selling them to make more money than selling the metals by themselves. I think we need to change what they are doing, I say this because if America makes the products and sells them to make the profits then in the long run it might help out our economy a little.

  197. i do not think that it is fair for china to keep all of the precious elements that they mine from the earth. they should have to give away more than all of the other countries because they produce a large amount of it. they produce about 97% of all of the worlds precious elements.

  198. The information that was released about these important rare earth materials was that they are used everyday objects such as T.V.’s, phones, and other devices. China has 97%of these rare earth materials they don’t want to give them out anymore what China wants to do is make the products and sell them for a profit. I think that China has the right to what they want with them because they come from china.

  199. 97% of earths rare earth metals are from china. And countries are saying that China is not sharing the metals like they should. The uses are for batteries, T.V. screens, and magnets. This could affect the tech industry, because Chinese tech products could in crease in price.

  200. Rare metals in China are a very useful resource used in a wide range of technology. The metals aren’t actually rare, they are quite abundant, but the issue is that they are really only produced in China. Therefore, China has the power to decide distribution internationally. They think that their country would actually gain a better profit if they used their local resources and made technology there in China and then sell those to countries instead of just the raw materials. Other countries such as the U.S and Japan don’t agree with this situation. I think the issue could affect the production of technology because if China isn’t readily willing to distribute the materials to other countries in enough bulk, technological production could be limited.

  201. China has a lot of the rare earth materials and they are keeping them to themselves and they don’t want to share. These can be used for tvs, smartphone, smart cars, and many more things. I think that China should share, and shouldn’t be doing this.

  202. I think it’s a fair business strategy employed by the Chinese. Their economy took a much harder hit than ours a few years back and over the course of history China has been bullied into unfair trade deals and treaties with western countries. Our economy is not the most important economy in the world. I’d rather China be free and wealthy than a smaller country. It would help the world economy. Of course that’s not going to happen for a long time, if ever.

  203. I believe that its not fair that China gets to keep 97% of rare earth material. It would be nice if we do get back into the industry by making these:Colored TV’s, smart phones, head phones, light bulbs, and a lot more.

  204. It is in all actauallity that its their land and there is not a whole lot we can do about it, But they are smart, its a way to boost there economy. If items like flat screens and phones are being made over there its not a whole lot of change from whats going on now.

  205. Definitely

  206. I think what they are doing is not good and they have a lot of rare earth metals and they are now limiting them ? They used them to make Television , Cell Phones , Computers and etc. I think China is being a hog over the the rare earth metals and they need to start sharing with the United states and Japan and places like thoese . Or send some stuff over here !

  207. The program says that these rare earth metals are actually not rare. They are in China and are in many electronics such as smart phones, hybrid cars, and colored t.v.’s. I don’t think they should “horde” all of the metals. It’s not fare to all the other countries even though they get it in their products. I think it would be good for the U.S to get back into this industry if possible. We would be able to have american made products and what not.

  208. the info about rare earth metals is that there not really rare. also 97% of the materials are in china. the uses for this metal material is to work as motors for phones and t.v.’s. my opinion is that they should share with us because they have so much of it they should at least give us a little bit. this isn’t very fair to do this and yes i think the U.S. should try to get back into this industry.

  209. The rare information about the rare earth materials is that they are in our everyday technology. Some uses are the charging of our phones and the color of our TVs. China is going to start charging us for the use of these products because they are found in there country. I believe that its fair they have 97% because they found it, finders keepers losers weepers…

  210. What information about rare earth metals is revealed in the program? that rare earth metals aren’t really rare. and China has most other these metals and now doesn’t want to sell them just as metals.

What are some uses for these elements? they are the energy of the batteries and they make t.v.s colored and they make very strong magnets

What is your opinion on what China is doing? I think what China is doing is wrong but if they need jobs and money that’s a smart thing to do.

Do you believe it’s fair that they own 97% of rare earth minerals? well it is their country so it is fair.

And would you like to see the United States try to get back into this industry if possible? yes if we got back in the industry we could get some jobs and money back.

  211. I think China should give out resources because it isn’t fair for some countries to have resources and others not. Its not fair that they own 97% because they can threaten with that much just like they are doing now. Yes I would like to see U.S. get back into the industry because our economy is bad and that will create jobs.

  212. Rare Earth Materials are used for all of the high tech gadgets we have to day.I believe that China has a right to do what they want with the resources in their country. When America had a huge Cotton Boom nobody was telling them what to do with it. I think that the United States shouldn’t get into this because it could upset China and China already owns 97% of the Rare Earth Material anyway so it seem like it would be a waste of time unless we could get a large portion of it from China without adding another trillion to our debt.

  213. These rare Earth metals are found and are going to be made in China. China is using these rare elements to sell to other countries including the U.S. I think this is a good idea for the U.S to start making jobs for stuff like this, but the problem is that we don’t have the rare elements that China has. I definetly think that the U.S should get back into industry by mining these metals. This would create a lot more jobs and also help the economy.

  214. the information revealed in the reading is that rare earth materials are not really rare. these element can be used to make smart phones televisions headphones and much more.i think that it is smart on there part to start making things with them and selling them but its not really that good for us. i do believe that they own that much of the rare metals. i would like the united states to get back into that industry

  215. Just because China has 97% of rare minerals doesn’t mean they should have to share it. Its in their own country, therefore they should have total control over it.

  216. The information revealed that China contains 97% of the rare Earth materials. These rare materials can be used for color tv, smart phones, and headphones. I don’t think its fair that China has 97% of them and isn’t willing to share. If America shares our resources with them, then they should have to share theirs with us too. I do think that America should get involved in this industry because it could be very successful and important.

  217. Yes i do think that china has 97% of the rare minerals. i also think there hording them to just like Africa dose with there diamonds they have a lot but only give out a few two make the price go up. and no i don’t think that we should get back in the business cause we would have to destroy more land.

  218. China needs to distribute the materials equally to all the countries that need it. The United States needs the materials just as bad as China does. 97% is pretty much all of it, China needs to share.

  219. Also I think the United Nations should do something to spread out the ownership of these rare earth materials.

  220. There are 17 rare earth metals and china is keeping 97% of it for their own profit. We use these metals to make a lot of things such as iPod’s, t.v.’s, etc.

  221. Places* not prices

  222. That there are rare metals that mostly china has and keeps for itself and then they use it to make TVs, iPod’s and other things so they can make money off of it.
Uses for the elements is that it can create tiny magnets that are the same strength as magnets at the size of 10x it.
I don’t believe that it is fair that china can use it and sell to us what they create because if we had more of it we could think of many things and other ways to use the metals for our advantage.

  223. The rare metals are for the majority in China and that is why China is controlling all of this. Also, most of these metals are found in mostly all of the products that are high tech these days. These products include: Smartphones, headphones, color TVs, iPods, and wind mills. I think that China shouldn’t be withholding and making us pay more for our materials so they can make and sell the products with the materials in them to us. Because let’s be honest, China makes some pretty crappy quality products and they are unreliable.

  224. China produces 97% of the worlds rare earth metals, which they use to create many of the modern electronic things we use today such as T.Vs and cellphones. They wont let the rest of the world have the material itself they want to sell the products they make. I don’t believe that’s right, the rest of the world needs it too.

  225. I dont think that what China is doing is right, Smart yes, fair no. I think that if China just sold them for more money then they would for the products then it could work. Yeah they would have to “buy it back” but at least there sharing and sharing is caring.

  226. Information includes China hoarding three rare earth minerals that are essential to high tech electronics that we use in everyday life. I think that China already has such a monopoly as far as Industry goes that they are holding the rest of the world back by holding the rare earth minerals found in China. I would like to see America get into this because there are so many people using technology that is made with these minerals in the US and since we can’t make them here, we are forced to just buy them from China or Japan like we do everything else.

  227. China is not handling this situation very well. They have 97% of the worlds rare earth materials and are acting like children with it. Before they used to sell the materials to the different countries that wanted the materials to make their own products. Now China is keeping the rare earth materials to themselves and making their own products, then selling them. The U.s should approach this situation carefully because they don’t want to upset China in any way.

  228. The information revealed about the rare earth materials is that China is limiting the export of these materials. They are going to keep more materials and then make different products and sell them to us for a higher value. Some of the items they are selling us are: Smart phones, televisions, headphones, etc.

  229. Information revealed about minerals is that they are mostly in China, and China is limiting the export to other countries. Some uses for these minerals are color TV, smart phones, and headphones. I believe it is not fair, and that they should share with other countries. I also think that the US should try to get back into the industry.

  230. I dont think that what China is doing is right, Smart yes, fair no. I think that if China just sold them for more money then they would for the products then it could work. Yeah they would have to “buy it back” but at least there sharing and sharing is caring.

  231. He told us that China is “hoarding” around 97 percent of the Earths rare elements. these elements are used to make components for electronics like cell phones and televisions. Yes i do think what they are doing is wrong, the United States needs to get into manufacturing electronics because the world needs them, and it would greatly improve our economy.

  232. That china is producing 97% of the worlds rare earths resources, they are used to make electronics and other technological items. But from now on China wants to keep the rare materials and make their own technological items and sell them to other prices to make more money. I don’t agree with this, but if we were the ones producing these materials we would do the same thing to make more money so you cant blame China for making more money.

  233. I don’t think what China is doing is right. They shouldn’t be charging us for that much for very cheap minerals. Yes, we should pay for them, but not that much. I don’t think that it is very fair that they own 97% of minerals, also. They should at least give other countries 5%. I think we should get back into the industry

  234. The info that has been shared with press is what the materials are used for. They are used for tv, smart phones, weapons, and much more. I believe that china should keep doing what they are doing.

  235. What information about rare earth metals is revealed in the program?
What are some uses for these elements?
What is your opinion on what China is doing? Do you believe it’s fair that they own 97% of rare earth minerals? And would you like to see the United States try to get back into this industry if possible?

the rare elements are important to new technology’s.some uses for these elements are for smaller engines to make power, smaller and better magnets, the colors on v screens, etc. I think that china needs to share with the other country’s more.i do not believe that it is fair that they own 97% of rare minerals.yes i would like to see the U.S. try to get back into the industry if possible.

  236. They told us how every technologically advanced device needs these rare earth elements to function. They power TVs and phones, and many more devices we rely on so heavily now. I don’t think it’s in any way fair, and that they should export it, but it is on their land so they do have the right to do with it what they please.

  237. china is in control of a lot of the worlds material.they are being greedy.we need a lot of these materials.this is unfair and the UA needs to get back into the industery.

  238. China produces 97% of the world’s Rare Earth Metals, which are used in creating electronics, like televisions, cellphones, and military technology. China has been limiting the amount of Rare Earth Metals they export, because they want to refine the metals themselves, and create products to be sold at a higher price. China has a right to limit how much they export, but it does make electronics more expensive. If America invests money in technology that would make it easier and cheaper to mine for Rare Earth Metals, America could produce Rare Earth Metals for themselves, and not rely on China.

  239. Carl and his fellow reporter friends revealed information on March 14th’s CNN News. They talked about these three “rare elements” on the periodic table. There’s sixteen of them total, however, they really focused and went into detail on three of these elements. The rare elements that they covered were used for many things. They put the rare elements in flat-screen televisions, smart phones, military weapons, anything hybrid, and many other resourceful things. In this section of CNN news they shared that China had owned 97% of the rare elements on Earth. China is trying to make all the finished products I listed above instead of selling the elements themselves, for a way to make more money. Do i think it’s fair? I don’t know, but I think it is what it is. I think since they have 97% of the elements they should sell them to other countries. The way they’re doing it right now is selfish in my opinion. The elements are found all over the world, just small quantities at a time, that’s why countries are looking at China for these rare elements. I’d like to see United States get back into the industry because, if anything, our economy might get better because of it.
    Thanks,
    Dr. Andrew J. Huff

    • NICE: Carl and his fellow reporter friends revealed information on March 14th’s CNN News. They talked about these three “rare elements” on the periodic table. 240. what information about rare earth metals is revealed in the program?
What are some uses for these elements?
What is your opinion on what China is doing? Do you believe it’s fair that they own 97% of rare earth minerals? And would you like to see the United States try to get back into this industry if possible?

some interesting info about them were they are made in china. I like what china is doing because I use my phone a lot. I dont believe its fair that they own THAT much but they should own some. I would love to see the US get this industry back.

  241. CNN told us that China was keeping all of the rare materials because they don’t want anyone else to making new things with the material. For these elements you can make all of the electronics that we all have right now like the Iphone, Ipod, flat screens, etc. My opinion on what China is doing is that they should export at least half of the minerals to be fair instead of being selfish and keeping it all. I don’t think that it is fair that they get to have 97% of the rare materials because they already make things for the United States so i think that they should give some to countries. I think that we should try to get back into the industry of the rare earth materials and stop buying things from other countries.

  242. China is holding 97% of rare earth elements. These elements are used to make many different kinds of electronics. I don’t think China should be able to hold all of the these “rare earth elements, I think they should export at least some of them to the U.S.

  243. Rare earth metals is really not “rare”, and these elements are used in many technological devices today. I believe it to be unfair that 97% of earth’s rare metals are in china because they are just trying to become more of a super power.

  244. That they are in control of a lot of the worlds rare materials. These rare materials are found in televisions and much more electronics. They are putting these rare materials in our daily electronics. I think it’s unfair and the US needs to get back into the industry.

  245. China is holding 97% of the worlds rare earth materials. These elements are used for colored tv, smart phones, Hybrid cars, and electronic things. I feel that it is not fair that China can hold 97% of the worlds rare earth material. They want to make stuff using the materials and than sell them to the U.S and Japan for more money. I think that China should let us take some of the rare material. I would like to see the U.S get back into the industry.

  246. The rare earth materials are not actually rare and are mostly found in China. They can be used to make smart phones, the color on a flat screen TV, along with other technologies. I think that it’s unfair that China owns 97% of the rare earth materials, they should share with other countries.

  247. 97% of earth’s rare metals come from china and they can be found in battery’s from your phone, in flat screen t.v.’s almost everything. China should share what they have of rare earth metals, not let them make things with it and then lets us by them for a higher value.

  248. The rare earth materials are safe and without them, we wouldn’t have anything. Smart phones, TVs, etc. I think that since everything is mainly made in china, china should have more but, the u.s should start being the one making everything so we know were making safe materials.

  249. Carl’s buddy said that 97% of the worlds Earth minerals are in and from China. China is using this for the making of smart phones , light bulbs, weapons, and flat screen televisions. I believe that China needs to start sharing some of these to America because we have helped them out a lot and have done a lot of business with them

  250. 97 percent of all earths known rare elements are in china and are used in almost every advanced technology we use. They use these elements for many electronics, including magnets, tv screens or just any type of electronic screen. I think that china has the right to do whatever they please with the minerals that is on their own land and it is completely fair if 97 percent of it is there. And yes i would like to see the U.S. get back into this industry because it is good money and if no one else is selling them then everyone around the world will basically be forced to buy from china.

  251. I learned about that “rare” earth metals are mainly produced buy china. They mine almost 97% of the world’s rare earth metals. China is now hoarding these metals. They wish to manufacture the products that come from these elements and sell them finished. I think that this is very unfair, and violates the right to trade. These elements are made to make many new technology. Such as phones and tv’s.

  252. The rare Earth materials in China aren’t so rare. It turns out that these materials can be used to make smart phones, flat screen tvs and other technologies. I do but i do not think that it is unfair for China to have 97% of these materials because China is huge in production, and if we wanted to keep on making these products, we might want to let China keep most of them. Also it is unfair because some other countries need these minerals as well to be able to produce some of their own products.

  253. The program mentioned that China ships 97% of rare earth metals and countries are accusing them of hogging the metals. Rare earth metals are used in pretty much all electronics or any form of technology. I think it is fair that China owns 97% of the earth metals but they should share it. I think it would help the economy if the United States got back into this industry.

  254. In the program it says that China holds most of the World’s rare earth minerals. Uses for these minerals can be anything high-tech, like smartphones, televisions, or military weapons. I don’t think that China having 97% of the earths rare minerals is fair at all, and I don’t think it would be hard to let other countries have access. I think the U.S should get involved because this industry could be very useful.

  255. In today’s news show, it was revealed that China is taking control and mining several very rare natural resources. Instead of selling the raw elements to other countries, they are keeping most of it and manufacturing goods that other nations are then forced to buy. China has so many of these materials, that they dropped the price to below what other countries can compete with. Therefore, other countries had to stop mining. Now that China owns 97% of the rare earth minerals, they stop selling to other countries, thus making them buy goods from China. Some of the uses for these minerals are color TV screens, smart phones, magnets, military equipment, and almost all technologically advanced items. I think that it is fair that China owns 97% of these minerals while I do not think it is fair that they are deciding to stop trading it with other countries. It is completely fair that they own these minerals because they are located on the land that is rightfully theirs, but when they start to manipulate other economies by forcing them to by Chinese goods, the problem begins. That is the part that is not fair- the fact that the Chinese are now manipulating the technological industries. I think that the United States may need to take action if this manipulation continues. I also think that the United States should get back into this industry, because if we start to mine these minerals, China will be forced to lower prices and open industry back up to other countries.

  256. Information released about earth metals in the program said that 97% of earth metals used in the world come from China. These elements are used in almost all electronics from smartphones to flatscreens to ipods. I do not think it is fair what China is doing. I would like to see the U.S. get back into the industry if possible.

  257. In the program it said that the rare earth materials that china is mining that china might be hoarding them. We use these elements for tvs, smart phones, and headphones. I don’t think that it is right that china is owning 97% of them. Also i think that the us should get back into the industry.

  258. They said that China is hoarding most of earth’s rare elements. These elements are used to make almost any electronics. I don’t think it’s fair that China owns all of the rare elements if they don’t share it with the rest of the world.

  259. Some information about the rare materials is that China produces 97 % percent of them. These minerals are used to make flat screen TV’s, phones, and other technologies. I think that China should share the minerals instead of selling the products that contain them so other countries can make money & produce things themselves.

  260. that China owns pretty much all of the rare minerals and they are not giving them away instead they are using them to make electronics and by that way they can sell the electronics for more than they could just give away the minerals. Some of the uses where smartphone, Color t.v’s etc. i don’t think that it’s fair because they can sell the products that they make with the minerals and sell them for more than they should. i think that China should give a large percent of the rare minerals to the United States.

  261. I think that China is being dumb. They shouldn’t be able to be keep all of these “rare earth elements” from other countries that would need them. Because these elements can be used for a lot of important things and China owns 90 percent of all these materials which are not really being used, this is stupid….and it must be stopped!

  262. They reveled that the “rare” earth materials aren’t really rare after all. Some of the uses for these metals are; military weapons, color televisions, phones, and hybrid cars. Mostly anything electronic. I don’t think what China is doing is fair and the fact that they own 97% of this material is dumb because they don’t share it with any other countries. They only make products and sell them with a ton left over.

  263. China has control of 97% of the worlds Rare Earth Metals, which are needed to create items like color TVs, cellphones, and even satellites. I don’t think it’s right that China is limiting the amount of Rare Earth Metals to be exported, and taking the excess to create more items to sell to other countries for more profit to them. It would save the U.S. a large sum of money to get back into that business, so I think we should start mining for Rare Earth Metals again.

  264. The information that was revealed about rare earth metals was that they really aren’t that rare. Also that 97% of the earths rare earth metals are in China. Some uses are in smart phones and televisions. I believe that China having the 97% of earth’s rare metals is okay. It doesn’t really matter. It’s their land. They can do what they want with it as long as they meet the international standards. So i believe that The U.S. should do something about it and challenge China to meet the standards and if they refuse than take harsher action. Also I would like to see the U.S. get back into the industry because it makes a lot of jobs and we will start producing it so our economy will grow and China will be forced to sell more to stay in the industry eliminating the problem and creating another industry for the U.S.

  265. Information that is revealed is that China is holding 97% of rare material. Some uses of the rare material is for televisions, phones. I think its unfair that China is not sharing and I think they need to share!

  266. i think what china is doing is unfair, they are being selfish and need to share with other countrys. i do not think it is fair. i would love for the US to get back into the industry to show china wasup

  267. Rare earth metals aren’t really rare. They can be used in pretty much any type of electronics. I think that China should share more of the rare earth metals, instead of just creating products out of it, and let us make our own things. Rare earth metals shouldn’t all be owned by one place, and the United States should try to get back into this industry if possible.

  268. Rare earth materials are used to make smartphones, tv’s, batteries, almost anything technologically modern. I believe it is unfair that china gets 97% of these rare Earth materials, because if we got more of these materials we could get back in the industry and become a more Independent country, which becoming so could improve the economy.

  269. Rare earth metals can be used when making new types of technology. It said that they aren’t really rare. 90% of the rare earth metals can be found in China. China was giving the earth metals away to others so they could make products themselves. Lately China has said they are going to keep them and make products in China and them sell them. I don’t think that it is fair that China can keep the elements for themselves. If they keep the elements for themselves then it could soon affect the production of technology.

  270. These rare earth materials are not actually rare. These elements are used in color TVs, and many other electronics. I don’t really think its that big of a deal if China wants to make the products by themselves because they already make most of our products anyways.

  271. They are found in China and they are very expensive. They can be used for needed fuel mainly. I think its perfectly fair that China has all these materials because no one decided where these would go they just happen to be in China. Yes it would be okay if the United states got back into this industry.

  272. There are rare materials on the earth are mostly in China and they are hoarding them. Some of these materials are used for high tech electronics like smartphones and flat screen t.v’s. I don’t think it’s fair that China wants to make everything and then sell it instead of just giving the material. But it is on their territory is it kind of is theirs. I would like to see the United States get back to making things and selling them so they can get jobs and make money.

  273. Rare metals power all of the technology that is being made like smart phones, Flat screen televisions, etc. 97% of the elements are located in China. I believe what China is doing is smart for their country, but on the other hand it will cause many conflicts and this idea made by China should be overturned by law. I don’t think China owns these elements because they are globally positioned there, but since they are they should have to trade with countries across the world.

  274. we use these kind of metals in our TV’s and in our phones. I think that it is wrong that China is taking all of our elements so i think it is very unfair. Yes i would like us to try to get into this kind of industry.

  275. In the program it was revealed that rare earth metals aren’t actually rare but plentiful. Some uses for these elements are making televisions, cell phones, weapons, and magnets. There is a controversy that China is going to stop giving other countries the minerals and make the products that other countries make with them to sell them. I don’t think it is fair because it should be distributed evenly. Yes I believe the U.S. should get back into this industry so we don’t have to pay China for the minerals.

  276. It’s revealed in the program that rare earth metals are used to make pretty much all kinds of technology and can be used in the making of weapons. I think China is just trying to protect a resource that could potentially make their country prosper. I don’t think it’s fair that they own 97% and I do think that the U.S should try to get back into the trade. However it is China’s resource and if they want to try to make it more profitable to them then that is their right and decision to make as a world power and even though we may not like it we’ve got to deal with it.

  277. The program said that rare Earth minerals are really not rare at all they are every where. Some uses for the minerals are making T.Vs, cell phones, and other kinds of technology. People are upset because China owns 97% of this industry and they are just going to start making the products and not selling the minerals. This would mean more countries would have to rely on China for even more products. I think if China does this countries are just going to start mining their own minerals and not buy them from China, this would then most likely increase the price of products.

  278. The information is that certain metals that we use, 97% of them are in China. The metals are used to power high tech things like smartphones, and flat screen TVs. I think that other countries should be able to buy the materials because they power a lot of electronics. I don’t think it unfair because it’s on their land but they should sell the elements. Yes I think they should.

  279. The information that was given was that the rare materials for most things high tech that are made today are mostly all made in China. The rare materials are used from smartphones, Ipad’s, Ipod’s, TV’s, Etc. I think it is unfair that China has 97% of the worlds rare materials and dont trade any of them because that is going to make the economy worse. I would like the US to get the industry back.

  280. The rear Earth metals that are shown to us are metals that power most modern technology now. The fact that they power phones, T.V.s, apple software, computers, and darn-near everything else, and there’s a LOT of it on Earth, but 97% controlled by China, makes things seemed very monopolized. China can now raise prices a lot, and the U.S. is almost helpless. I think we need to do something about it.

  281. Rare earth metals are extremely useful in the making electronics like cell phones, TVs, computers, etc. China’s mining and production of these elements makes up 97% of the elements’ total mass in the world. Many countries say that China is hoarding these elements so that they can produce more electronics for the consumer market, a policy that would make them a lot of money. China says they export just as much as they keep, and their export regulations meet international standards. I think it seems that China already exports enough of these minerals, since they are not in short supply anywhere else either, but if they are hoarding them to better their own economy and not the global economy, it isn’t good.

  282. 97 percent of the worlds earth minerals are in china they can use these materials to make technologies like smart phones and flat screen tvs. i think china should share the minerals because everyone deserves to have some minerals to make goods

  283. That they are used with any thing electronic and now china owns 90% of rare earth metals. To power batteries, to make the color TV’s, military weapons. I think china should stop and let people get jobs so that way its fair the world market. No the US should get involved with getting rare earth elements.

  284. That they are’t that rare. They are used to make smart phones and are used as magnets. I think that china should’t hoard all of the materials. I don’t think that it’s fair. Yes i would like the us to0 get back into the mining of these materials.

  285. Information that was released in the blog about rare Earth metals is that they are actually not that rare, there is a lot of it in China. Some uses for these elements are for electronics, like to power a battery or make colors on a tv screen. I don’t really like what China is doing, because they have a lot more than they need and they only way they will give to us is selling. I don’t think that is fair that China owns that much percent of rare metals. I would like to see the United States try to get back in that industry because maybe somewhere in our country there is a lot of rare metal, we just have not really tried looking for them.

  286. China is the world’s largest producer of rare Earth minerals and wishes to keep them for themselves. Rare Earth minerals are needed for things such as televisions or phones. Other countries are mad because they want the raw minerals rather than the products they are made with. I think it’s fine if China keeps them just so long as they make the products they are used to make available to us. If it costs more to us, maybe that should go toward our enormous debt to them that so far it doesn’t seem like we’re paying off any way else.

  287. The information that has been released about the rare earth metals is that they arent that rare. Some uses for there metals are: color televisions, military weapons, hybrid cars, and phones. I don’t think that it is fair that china owns 97% of all rare earth metals. I would want the US to be back in this industry. We could raise the economy selling rare earth metals and we could aid the economy by doing it.

  288. in my opinion i do think that america should have some say in it because if they dont their going to put their nose in it like they do everything else and start another war right after everybody was supposed to come home at christmas but now their going to have to go to another part of the world to risk their lives for some stupid rocks that america is crying over.

  289. They said that rear earth minerals are not so rear after all. The minerals are used to make smart phones, color TV’s, computers etc. I don’t think its far that China has all the rear earth minerals because the US does not hardly make anything. I think if the US could get some of those minerals we could start to make our own products and that would get the jobs back of the people who lost them.

  290. the rare metals aren’t so rare china is just hording them so they can make more money by making the products then selling the stuff. some of the they use this metal in phones, tvs, almost all technology uses this stuff. they can keep all of it but the us wont buy there products we will find our own metal.

  291. Today CNN Student News told a story about what the government calls Rare Earth Elements. Well they told us about how these elements, though called rare, are actually not rare at all. They had talked about how China has 97% of those materials, and though it does ship them out, they say people including the United States are calling China hoarders. China said that it is following international shipping regulations and that instead of just giving the elements, it will make products and sell them to other countries. That’s that problem. The United States is trying to get China to sell more elements and only elements, not finished products.

  292. Some uses for these elements are that they use in smartphone. Flat screen TV’s, and some other types of electronics. I think that China should make the products that these things need and to sell them. I think that it is not fair for China to own all the rare minerals I would like the US try to get back the industry.

  293. China makes 97% of all rare earth metals and China want to start making stuff with the material instead of selling the material. They use these materials to make electronics like phones and TV’s. I don’t think it’s fair that they own 97% of the materials because that means we can’t make that much electronics, will either have to buy there electronics or material.

  294. China has a lot of rare earth metals. Some uses for this element is making stuff that needs metal to make it. I don’t think that its fair that they own 97% of the rare earth minerals. Yes i would like to see the U.S try to get back into this industry because that way we will have more instead of China.

  295. I think that this could go either way. One, China has the right to do anything they want with the stuff in their country, but, I don’t think it’s very mature to take all of it in such a secretive way. Now that the electronic industry is a big part of most people lives, we need more of these minerals to make our cell phones, televisions etc. function correctly. I 100% think that the U.S. should get back into this industry, if that’s the only way we’re able to get these “rare elements”.

  296. i don’t think china is doing the right thing, they should just sell other country’s the mineral. no i don’t think that it is fair. i would like to see the u.s get back in the industry.

  297. Information revealed about the rare earth metals are that they’re not really rare because there in tv’s & cell phones. Also china has a lot of them and the u.s & other countries think that china’s hogging it all. I don’t really think its fair how they have all them so i think they should share.

  298. The Rare earth supplies are kind of interesting and how many we need and how little there are. They said that it would be used in like tv’s and all other electronics. I think China is being completely fair and they don’t have to give us anything. I don’t really mind if the Industry would get back into business.

  299. That rare earth metals are used for the makings of many electronics, l computers, phones, etc. I don’t think what China’s doing is right, because it may be their rare earth metals but the process in which the US is doing, making our own technology with the metals seems to be working. So I don’t think that China should be doing this. I think that the US should get back in this industry because where used to what where doing now.

  300. Some info is that they are used in electronics. Some uses for these elements are that they are used in smartphone’s, and or flat screen TV’s. I don’t think China should be making the products that need these elements and then selling them, they should just sell the elements. I don’t think it’s fair that China owns 97% of earths rare minerals. I would like to see the US try and get back into the industry.

  301. That china is not selling them anymore and are instead making the products that use the materials. They are used in most electronics. People believe that china is hoarding them. I think china should just sell the materials but that will never happen cause it would be a stupid economic move.

  302. China makes 97% of all rare earth metals. and they want to start making stuff with them and sell the objects instead of just selling the material. This made many counties furious. some uses for these elements are color t.v, phones, radio, light bulbs, etc. i don’t think its fair that they own 97% of the minerals so what would be a problem of just selling the minerals?

  303. the rare earth materials that were shown in the video, were said to be able to make batteries, TVs, and other electronics. and what china wants to do is to reduce the amount of materials that they give away, because they want to make products with the earth materials, then sell the things that they make with it.

  304. they said that china owns 97% of the minerals. they also said that the metals and minerals make color t.v’s, headphones and other technology. i don’t think its fair that china has 97% but i guess that’s just the way things turned out. yes i would because i think that some of the money made could help our economy and it will create jobs.

  305. They told us that China was hoarding all of the rare minerals. They are getting 97% of the worlds rare minerals and they don’t want to just give them away anymore. They said they want to start using them and building their own things and sell them for a higher value.

  306. i think that what china is doing is a bad thing. they are completely taking advantage of their position of being the leading producer of those elements. no i do not. yes i would, as we used to produce massive amounts of those devices, yet have had to slow down all production of them.

  307. Highlander Teamship Members are expected to abide by the generally accepted rules of network etiquette. These include, but are not limited to:

    • Rare earth materials are not really that rare. There are a lot of them in the world but most of them are in China and China doesn’t want to sell them. Rare earth materials are used in most new technology like color t.v.’s. I think that it is not fair what china is doing. They should allow the rest of the world to be able to use the rare earth materials. I would like to see the U.S get back into this business because it could help boost our economy.
