Today’s question is in regard to the alleged recent shooting rampage of a U.S. Marine in Afghanistan in which 16 civilians were killed. According to Carl he has been reportedly transferred out of Afghanistan by the U.S. military based on a “legal recommendation.”

IN YOUR OPINION…do you believe that the U.S. Marine should be transferred out of Afghanistan, the site in which he has allegedly murdered 16 civilians AND WHERE should his trial be held when charges are brought against him.

They absolutely should not be able to pay athletes under the table to hurt another teams players. The whole point to playing a sport is to improve your skill level while playing by the rules, if others are willing to follow the rules then they don’t deserve to be hurt. This is an act of selfishness which should not be tolerated what so ever.

Yes, i believe that the trial should come back to the United States, they should get him out of there as soon as possible. He was in a horrible condition of major post traumatic stress from previous tours. They should not have passed him to take another tour to Afghanistan because it lead to this horrible action. Yes i do believe that he should be transferred out because the issue for him to still be there, even though he may not have done it people still think he did so they probably don’t want him to be there and they might even want to kill him for what they he did/ didn’t do. I think his trial should be there and here.
I think it was fair that the Marine was transferred out of Afghanistan. It all depends though, was it legal or illegal? Were they threatening his life or was it just random? If it was part of his job and/or he was defending his life, then he was just doing his job. Killing that many people [on your own at one time] is never really alright though, so yeah, it was fair he was brought back to America.

This is a difficult question, considering the circumstances. I think that the Marine being transferred out of Afghanistan is both good and bad. It is safer without angry Afghans, but it is cheaper and easier to stay.
I personally think that he should stay in Afghanistan for the trial. The trial should take place where the crime is committed. It is easier and cheaper for the U.S, and may prevent controversy.

I think that he should be only transferred back to the US for his jail sentence. I also think that the Marine who committed this crime should return not return back to America for his trial. If someone not for the US commits an act of terrorism, they usually have their trial here. So, it should be the same for him.

I do totally think he should be removed. What disgusts me, however, is that Obama and gov are calling for his execution. Yes, this is terrible. But so is the terrorist who killed a bunch of people. I believe that the soldier should have to be tried in Afghanistan. He killed 16 of their citizens so they deserve to see how guilty he is. I think that America should have a part in the trials. However, Afghanistan should have the majority of control.

I think the Marine should be transferred out. It’s thought that he had several mental problems during this incident. More than this, the Afghans are not going to want to treat him fairly. They could put him to death by stoning. We will have to have him stand to a military tribunal to determine the circumstances of the killings, and the consequences he must face.

I think his trial should be local, for witnesses and I think he should be token out of afghan and to the U.S. and be watched by the military, until this thing gets settled.
I think that it should be held in Afghanistan because the people want to see him get brought to justice they don’t want to hear it they want to see it and know that he got punished for what he did. The tensions are strong right now and to help it settle a little would be to give what the Afghans want.

If we don’t do something about it soon then we will have problems with other civilians later down the road. Having tension in Afghanistan while our soldiers are in there is not good and could be stressful on them. I think that more investigation need to be done on the marine and why he “killed” all those people. They should do a physiological background check on him. Its just weird that a U.S. Marine would just go out and kill random people for no reason.
I think that he shouldn’t be transferred out of Afghanistan he needs to face the punishment that Afghanistan gives him. In the United States if you live in Michigan I commit a crime in Ohio they don’t send him to Michigan for his trial, he faces the punishment Ohio gives him. What the marine did was wrong and irresponsible. He should definitely be transferred out of Afghanistan because if he stays in the area where he killed the civilians they could try and get revenge. His trial should be back in america but kept silent because as Americans we don’t want to be known as the country who just attacks innocent civilians.

I think that the marine should not be transferred, and he should be tried for his crime in Afghanistan. I feel this way because if an Afghan troop had done this in America, we would certainly try him here so he gets what he deserves. It is only fair that Afghanistan does the same thing. It is their people that got killed, not ours. Also, I don’t think that a marine would just go on a killing spree, so I feel that there must have been some secret reason. Possible it was an undercover job or something. I would need to know more to be 100% about my opinion, and I think that Afghanistan needs to find out more before they try him.

Since the crime was against Afghans, but the man was from America, I think the ideal situation would be a trial involving both countries.
