CNN Blog – Thursday, March 22

Yesterday the New Orleans Saints of the NFL received their penalty for running an illegal bounty program through their team. The bounty was centered around the idea of players receiving “under the table” (not a part of their contract) payments for hits that injured other players during games. Included in this was the suspension of their head coach Sean Payton (pictured below) for the entire season, and $500,000 worth of fines.

Your Question: In your opinion was it alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money? WHY or WHY NOT?

***Remember, 3-5 full sentences indicates a well thought out response. Some of you do not even read the question and end up posting responses that make absolutely no sense.***

  1. I think that they should do more about it. By just taking away texting there’s still other things that would distract you. I think everything that has to do with distracting us while driving should be changed. People need to be more safe while driving.

  2. No, because they caused injury ti other people, and they when across there boundary area.

  3. no i think that it is good will they have it know because if basketball does not work out for them they have some thing to fall back on.also i think that’s cool that they have people come with to help the players with there school work when they are at basketball. also if they need help with there home work and they are a way at basketball they have someone to ask for help

  4. I think that they maybe should hold the players to a bit higher standards because they may not be able to stay playing basketball forever, they need a fall back. If someone gets injured enough to not be able to go back into it they should have their other grades up so that they have something to do if that does happen.

  5. I was absent yesterday

: In your opinion was it alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money? WHY or WHY NOT?

this is not alright because it can lead to serious injuries to other players. you shouldn’t be able to cheat and get away with this. the coach should not just get fined and suspended he should be fired for this aggressive and illegal move

  6. I do not think the Bounty program is right because no one should get paid to hurt other people. It’s just wrong!

  7. i dont think it cause they could get some major injuries and for what just for a game

  8. I don’t think that it was right for them to do this however I do like the idea. I think it would make football a lot more entertaining. It also wouldn’t make them so hotheaded because they know that every game there is the chance that their career would end. I say that every team should try it out for just one year to see if they get more people watching the games. This could end up saving teams a ton of money because they won’t pay you to throw 400 yards a game, they will pay you to throw 200 and survive. So they won’t pay 80 Bajillion dollars for 2 games from you. Football could be a blood sport. I like the idea of that Saints head coach. He knew where the NFL should go in the future. It would also make teams more united because you would all have to look out for each other. I think it’d end in a lot of team brawls, however this would be interesting.

  9. Football is a dangerous sport. Instead everyone should play futbol. If you play football you always have the risk of being hurt. SO everyone needs to play a sport with more teamship like soccer.

  10. i think it’s just wrong that the had a bounty program. I mean it takes away the thought of good sports men ship a monger the players. that coach got off easy and that he should have been kicked out of the leg completely. also that every one who was apart of it should get kicked out to.

  11. No, because it might end horribly. Also, that would be like paying someone to hurt somebody that you don’t like. We can’t do that. So why would it be ok to be promoted to injure players on the other team. Even if it gives you a better chance at winning.

  12. No, because it is not fair to just wreck players to take them down. Also, he got kicked out of the league and fined for $500,000. That would imply that it wasn’t a good thing. This could hurt the Saints player in the process also. If everyone did this, it wouldn’t be football any more.

  13. No it is not alright to run a bounty program because it is it could cause major injuries to players.People will do anything to make money but trying to hurt someone else for money is wrong. That is not a good way to help your team win either because now they got caught and the coaches are suspended.

  14. I think it’s fair that he’s suspended. Winning is really not a big deal. Trying to injure someone is a really bad thing, and you can really get arrested for it. So me, i think it’s alright that he’s suspended.

  15. No I don’t think it was okay that the saints paid the players for knocking people out of the game. That’s mean and its’ not in the contract so it isn’t legal. I agree with the suspensions that were made.

  16. I don’t think that it was right that they did that but i could see that it could be good because it would make your players to work and and play better and i still think it is not good that they were doing and other teams were doing it also i should see that it was good if they weren’t trying to hurt someone.

  17. i dont think the “bounty” program is ok because then other players might think its ok to hurt others to get payed and then the teams wont really be how they should be

  18. I don’t think that it is right for them to promote injuring other players. They should just play the game like it is supposed to be played. It is also definitely not right to pay them to do this.

  19. I don’t think that is right but it can be okay. i think it isn’t right because your paying your players to hurt or injure the other team. I think it is kinda okay because you are challenging your players to work harder and harder to get extra cash. It is causing alot of conflict between other teams.

  20. I don’t think that this was ok. The reason I think this is because you shouldn’t try to be doing this. It is not a good thing.

  21. Of course it is not okay. There is nothing alright with hurting other players simply for money. It is unfair and and morally wrong. Anybody who says that it is fine is either kidding or insane. It just isn’t right to hurt people and get money.

  22. No i don’t think that it was right because then the NFL would have more injuries. It is bad because they will just pay players to go out on the field to hurt someone and get payed for it. So i think that the saints should be punished for the bounty.

  23. I think it’s wrong because it seems like cheating to me. It’s wrong to hurt people for the purpose of winning, especially if it’s not been told to them to do so.

  24. No, don’t think its appropriate to bribe players to hurt other people. Well i mean maybe they just wanted to improve their team and they saw this as a way to do it. To be this is kid of like they would pay people to get touch downs. I dont see it as an awful thing to pay someone for tackling another player.

  25. In my opinion it was wrong for the Saints to run a “bounty” program that promoted injuring opposing players for money because it is wrong to hurt people intentionally and just because they’re getting money doesn’t make it okay. You have to be a team player when you are playing a game or else the other team feels bad.

  26. I think that paying the player is not right. That makes the fun game of football even more dangerous. Paying them motivates the player to hurt their opponent instead of playing to help their team get a touchdown. So, paying the players a bounty will help the team, but it isn’t the right thing to do and shouldn’t be allowed.

  27. I don’t think that its right for them to do that. Why would you want to hurt someone for money? How does that seem right for people to do that? But I really don’t know that much about football so I don’t know if they should do that or not.

  28. i think every team should run a bounty program i think it motives players to really play the game and we get to see the real players

  29. In my opinion it wasn’t alright for the Saints to run a bounty program because it can really injure other players. It is wrong for their coach to go around and tell them that it is okay to hurt other people for money. They deserve the punishment they got. It was wrong to do that. It also doesn’t show respect for other teams players.

  30. I definitely do not see how promoting other players to hurt another player. To compare this would you think it is right if a tennis player beat up another players arm to win? Not at all, so why would it be right in football.

  31. I think the Bounty program is wrong. its’s wrong people shouldn’t get paid for hurting people. it’s not right.

  32. No I think it is not OK to run a bounty program that helps knock out other players in the game because it is not sportsmanlike. It is just a cheap way to try to win and you need to win with honor, not cheating. Whenever a team will get caught, they deserve the punishments they get, such as the way the Saints have.

  33. No, I don’t think it was okay for them to try to injure other players on purpose, because that wouldn’t be okay in real life. It is wrong of them, and I think they deserved the punishment they got.

  34. no i dont thin the bounty is right because you should not pay players to hurt others, you should pay them for there will and there talent also so they should play for the game and to have fun no for money.

  35. Yes, i think it was right for the penalties to be put on the Saints. It was wrong to do that and they deserved it. I do think the penalties may be a little harsh and over the top, but they had to have some type of penalties.

  36. No, I don’t believe that it is right for them to pay players to hurt people. Football is already dangerous enough. But big hits in football are fun to watch.

  37. No , i don’t believe that it was right for them to run a bounty like they did . It wasn’t right for them to injure other players , just for their own benefit and for them to get money . The player who gets who doesn’t get paid because , they are no longer playing in the game . So no , it wasn’t right for them to run a bounty .

  38. No i do not think it was ok to pay the saints to injure the opponent team because that is just plain wrong. They should win the right way with out using violence. If they have to use violence to win then they aren”t good.

  39. No, I don’t think it is right at all. They are cheating and just playing dirty. They could hurt someone just to get paid. Its wrong and its bad sportsman ship.

  40. No, it’s not alright for the “bounty” program, because if you’re promoting injuring the other players then that isn’t normal. especially since they’re promoting it for money, you should be playing the game for the game. not for hurting people & getting money, this is a wrong thing to do and its good they’re getting fined.

  41. i think that if a team wants to they should have that option. it is not as fair if the other team doesn’t.

  42. No this is not a fair bounty. People should not be encouraged to hurt others, it just isn’t part of the game. So I do not believe that they should be able to give players extra money for trying to hurt the other players.

  43. It is not OK to run a bounty program that involves injuring players on the other team. Some of the players that get hit in football get serious injuries that affect them for the rest of their life. Sean Peyton should be suspended for letting it happen and so should all of the defensive coordinators.

  44. I don’t think it was right for the Saints to run a “bounty” program because no one should try to hurt any other human

  45. I think it is very wrong to run a bounty program. They were paying players to hurt the really good players, that is not okay at all. So i totally agree with what they got punished for. So the problem is solved now.

  46. No i dont think this is ok. If they were getting bonuses for getting good hits that would be fine. They aren’t though they were playing dirty and trying to injure players

  47. NOPE! this is not okay and wrong! this should be illegal! its like an under the table payday!

  48. I think they should be able to do the bounty because that is cool. That will make the game more interesting and the people on the other team would wreck. If they don’t want to get hurt they can take the bench or avoid it. They also just man up and take a hit.
    dueces

  49. I play football and I don’t think that it is okay to have one player try and intentionally injure another. Players in the NFL are all together and to have some one who you consider an opponent yes, but also an allie attempt to hurt you and maybe even ruin your career is upsetting. That would be like me trying to attack Tyler Rhoades in his shin to ruin the competition. Hmmmmmm……….

  50. Its not alright because it is a wrong thing to do!! It could end up with even more injuries.

  51. I think that people shouldn’t be getting payed “under the table” money for being injured, they get payed enough money anyways. If they get payed extra money for being injured then this is un-loyal because this all comes with the sport, that if you get injured you have to heal and then get right back up and approve.

  52. it’s not alright for the “bounty” program, because if you’re promoting injuring the other players then that isn’t normal. especially since they’re promoting it for money, you should be playing the game for the game. not for hurting people & getting money.

  53. No i don’t think its okay for the Saints to do that its cheating and could hurt someone. its just plain wrong. they will figure out sooner or later that it was a bad idea.

  54. I think that the ‘bounty’ program is not fair. I think this because they need to teach football players to go out there and have fun and not to cheat. With this ‘bounty’ program, they are teaching them to cheat to make money, which isn’t fair at all. In the long-run, i think that the saints will decide that it was a bad idea to try the ‘bounty’ program.

  55. i think its good and bad because its makes them more aggressive and they get more money. bad because you could injure someone really bad. i think the punishment was fair and hope this never happens again.

  56. that’s dome that mean that they have no sportsmanship. i would sipped them too. if i herd about that i hate that. i would fire the differences cloche. i am disappointing of them

  57. No i do not think it is right to pay players to hurt other players. It’s wrong, they may be learning how to be more aggressive and putting in more effort because they are getting paid. But I think they should be punished for intentionally hurting people.

  58. this is not alright because it can lead to serious injuries to other players. you shouldn’t be able to cheat and get away with this. the coach should not just get fined and suspended he should be fired for this aggressive and illegal move

  59. The Saints shouldn’t of done that a all. The NFL shouldn’t of let that happen. Its the Saints fault but the NFL could of done something about it sooner. And why would you want to hurt other people on purpose? That’s not the point of the game. It sucks getting hurt in football. So the Saints shouldn’t of done that.

  60. Personally I don’t agree with the Saints’ decision to run a “bounty” program which promoted them to injure opposing players for money. I think it is wrong for someone to intentionally hurt another for their own profit. Ideas like these take away the purpose and priorities of the game. Instead of aiming to win, they are aiming to injure. In my opinion, the coach deserved to be suspended. It might be okay if you are promoting them but trying to hurt them is just plain silly.

  61. i think it was okay because it motivated they d-fence to do better. but it is also mean to hurt other people so no!!!!!!! heh(:

  62. No it is never okay to pay someone else to hurt a player these men could have been serious injured and they could have lost their whole career just because someone was paying them to give him a blow. His suspension is the right amount and those are the right consequences.

  63. I do no’t agree with the Saints’ decision to run a “bounty” program that promoted the Saints players to injure opposing players for money. I don’t agree with the “bounty” program because it injures other players and it doesn’t seem fair. People shouldn’t be getting paid for hurting other people.

  64. I do not think that it was alright for the Saints to have a “bounty.” I think that you shouldn’t purposely injure people for money. They already get paid millions of dollars, why would they need the extra cash?

  65. I don’t think that it was good idea for the Saints to do that because they could really hurt somebody and could be sued a lot of money

  66. i don’t think it was right for them to run a bounty program because its teaching the players to hurt someone more than actually play the game. i don’t know why they would feel good and get payed because they hurt someone, or even critically injured someone.

  67. I think its wrong because they are getting payed for injuring players and that’s not how you play the game.

  68. No it is not okay. Someone could have gotten seriously injured. It’s bad sportsmanship and i agree with their punishment.

  69. I do not think it was okay for the Saints to do that. There should have been a line drawn before it ever got that serious. But I also think that it was a little extreme that all of the coaches got suspended. They should have made an announcement about it instead of putting the entire team in jeopardy.

  70. i think that his punishment was fair cause hes weird and you shouldent have to play your player to toake out other ones they should be doing that on there own and i think he should of been fired actually

  71. In my opinion it is not OK for the Saints to pay their players to damage the other teams players, because sometimes someone could seriously hurt the opposing team. Maybe even Making it so that the other teams players couldn’t play anymore.

  72. No, I don’t thinks it’s right for them to do this. Nobody should ever hurt anybody else for money. Them adults know way better then to do that. They’re probably rich anyways why would they need more money?

  73. i don’t think they can run a bounty program. i think it is good what they did and they needed to make a example out of the team so other teams don’t start doing the same thing.

  74. No not at all, to run a bounty on players on another team is not right at all. That’s bad and it needs to be stopped.

  75. No I don’t think its okay for the bounty program. If they did had the program accepted was accepted by other teams then it would be good. However someone could get seriously injured who isn’t use to being targeted.

  76. I dont think it is right at all to pay someone to hurt a player because if you play the sport to have fun and haveing the intent to injur on your mind is rong and the coaches derserve the punshment they get for the way that they handled things

  77. I think that it is wrong to pay players extra to hurt others, it encourages violence. People could be seriously hurt and to pay them for it is wrong. There are enough injuries in football as it is, it shouldn’t be encouraged.

  78. I think starting this bounty program for their team causing players to be come more aggressive. This maybe helping them, but I don’t think it is okay to go out and play the game to hurt peoples. I think the players should get punished for that.

  79. I don’t think it is fair because the other players have no intentions of hurting the other team purposely. It’s called playing dirty and it’s just as fair as fixing a game.

  80. I’m not interested in football but I don’t think the coach should be fired. The players should. It’s their choice to injure other players.

  81. I don’t think it was right at all. Players shouldn’t be hurting other players just for money. I think that the money the players earned should be taken away from them. I also think it was right for the coaches to get suspended. The players who were participating in the “bounty” program should also get suspended.

  82. No, I don’t think that having a bounty program is acceptable. The objective of football is not to purposely injure the opposing team. Their motivation should be to score touchdowns, not injure players.

  83. I feel that it is wrong but on the other hand it does encourage players to hit hard and win games

  84. I think it is wrong that they would purposely hurt other people. After all, it IS just a game.

  85. I don’t thin that it was good that they were running the bounty, but I do believe that it helped their aggressiveness and their intensity, because they want to make more money. I also heard though that a lot of teams do similar things just maybe not as severe.

  86. im not the biggest fan of football but yes and no, yes it gives them something to try better at. No, because it can end up with injuries

  87. I don’t think it is a good idea. This idea will end up with some major injuries. I twill also it is selfish to make an injured player to be in the game just to win.

  88. I dont think it is alright for the bounty program to go on it was really selfish and not right for the coaches to pay their players to hurt other players on the team i think they should pay for their injuries they had caused those teams .

  89. i think that running a bounty shouldn’t be aloud because it can cause some major injuries and stuff. and that just going after players to hurt them is a bad thing.

  90. Wil, it is unfair and not right, But yes they should be doing this and having to beable to do this and face it like a man.

  91. in my opinion its a no i think they should just play it for fun and for food on the table.they should not be so un humain in sports just for money its sick.the punishment they got they deserve worse the call themselves saints what a pity.

  92. No i do not think its okay for the players on the Saints to get money and hurt other players. People could get seriously hurt and they might not ever be able to play again. Plus the bounty program isn’t a good way for players to get extra money.

  93. no i don’t think running a bounty is okay to do in football because all the other players on other teams don’t get payed to hurt people lol

  94. I don’t think it’s right that the Saints were having a “bounty” program to promote teammates from hurting members of the opposing team because the point of football isn’t go try to hurt the other team members, it’s just to win. I don’t think it’s right to hurt other people/opposing team members on purpose.

  95. In my opinion it is wrong for the Saints to run a bounty program, honestly people can do whatever they want. I don’t really care about football, But then again what they are doing is wrong. People shouldn’t get paid to knock people around. People will literally do anything for money.

  96. it was not alright for the saints to run a bounty program.

  97. I don’t think that’s fair to other teams that didn’t know about the bounty program. And hurting the other teams players just so they can get a leg up, even if they are paying them, isn’t fair in my opinion. I think they deserved the punishment they received.

  98. I do not think it was ok to run a bounty on players. Hurting other people just to win doesn’t sound right. It also makes the players look bad. Sure you get paid alot of money for doing it but its still not a right thing to do…

  99. I think that its not a bad thing because the injuries are a common thing and all but if its their choice to participate in the bounty and why not get rewarded for knocking out the other team members?

  100. I don’t agree with the Saints’ decision to run a “bounty” program which promoted them to injure opposing players for money. I think it is wrong for someone to intentionally hurt another for their own profit. Ideas like these take away the purpose and priorities of the game. Instead of aiming to win, they are aiming to injure. In my opinion, the coach deserved to be suspended.

  101. I think that it wasn’t alright to run the “bounty” program because the game shouldn’t be about away to cheat to win I think they wanted money and wanted to win more then to do it fairly and if another team did this to them they would think it’s unfair they don’t realize that when it’s done to them they will care but not when they do it to others they just think about themselves and not others.

  102. No I don’t think it’s right because you should never purposely hurt someone, yeah people do but you should never hurt someone for money, it just isn’t right. The coaches should have known better than to do this. But even though people or other teams probably do the same thing in some way it does not make it right.

  103. No i don’t think that was a good idea. you shouldn’t get paid to hurt people, and i think his punishment was fair because his intention was to injure players.

  104. It was wrong for the Saints to run a “bounty” program. It was not okay for the saints to do that. First that is cheating. The program was basically saying that cheating is okay and that you should get paid for cheating. And injuring someone on purpose is wrong. The team should get punished for that and they deserve all of the fines and stuff.

  105. No, I don’t think that its alright for the Saints to run for a bounty because that’s really mean to hurt people just to get money. A lot of people could get injured too and some people wouldn’t care.

  106. I don’t think that the coach should be paying them for a bounty.I don’t think they should get paid for hurting someone. That’s just not right.I think that hurting another player during the game to win could effect their career and not just that one game.

  107. This is not a good idea. This could seriously injure some one. The coach shouldn’t have to pay a huge fine considering they didn’t really injure some many people this year.

  108. I think that it is appropriate to suspend the head coach and fine them $500,000 because injuring other teams is not okay. It does put the Saints at a better advantage then other teams but other teams aren’t using the same program and if all their players are injured then nobody will get to play sooner or later.

  109. I think that is was a bad idea to run a bounty program. With them doing that many other players will get hurt and sometimes end there career. If everyone could do that then many of the good players would be hurt and no longer play. I agree that coaches were suspended and the team was fined was a good choice. This could also show other teams not to do this ether.

  110. I don’t think that this “Bounty” program thing is right, you shouldn’t pay someone for hurting someone else, it’s football not wrestling. Or whatever.

  111. I don’t think so because you shouldn’t injure the other players for money, you can understand you want them to get good hits and everything but its just not right. There pretty sure doing this because their getting payed extra too.

  112. I don’t think that it is right because they could really hurt someone. How would they like it if the other team was trying to hurt them just for money. The people they were trying to hurt have family’s.

  113. I don’t think that the “bounty” program is okay. I think it just encourages those players to injure the other team. It may help the saints to be more aggressive, but i don’t think it’s appropriate to have the “bounty” program.

  114. I don’t think that running the program is a good idea because more players could be injured and then there would be no game. If they become more aggressive then there is a better risk of being injured in the game. So i think that its a dumb idea to pay team mates for injuring other teams.

  115. I do not think it is appropriate for the teams to get paid for hurting other people, it might be a game but getting paid for hurting them is just not right. But I also do think its appropriate because they joined to play a game if they are going to be playing a game that involves getting injured they should take the risk if you want to play.

  116. I dont think it was alright for them to be running this program, they were promoting the wrong ideas for aggressiveness, you dont injure someone to be able to win, you try and do it fairly to win. If anyone was to get hurt too bad then it would cause the makers of this idea to possibly get sued for what they did. I dont think its right to have someone get injured for skills.

  117. I think that a “bounty” program is terrible because you are hurting other people when then do that and that don’t play there hardest because they want to win they do it because they get payed extra.

  118. first off i want to say eat it saints. since i do not like the since i think that i was a good thing that they made the penalties. also i do not want to see anybody from the lions or anybody from a different team get carded off the flied.

    go lions!!!

  119. Obviously not because it injures players that can ruin their job and life. It will affect the team and every fan that is watching the games. Yes, it might get the players to be more aggressive but the players who are really are so good because they are already aggressive and their goal is to win games, not hurt people for more money when they already make millions.

  120. I think that is good that they reward their players for doing good at what they do but i do not think that they should be payed for it, in my opinion it sounds like they are encouraging them to hurt others. Like if we turned the situation around on them they would not like the idea because its their own players getting hurt.

  121. no it’s most definitely not ok. they were purposely hurting other players and goes against everything sportsmanship is. Also at no point in time is that ever ok. people could’ve been severely injured.

  122. Running a bounty was not a good idea on the Saints part. Yes it gives them something too work harder for and to help them get better at it but causing any major injuries is not right. It just shows that they wouldn’t be able to win a game without injuring someone. It also shows poor sportsmanship.

  123. I don’t think that its okay because its giving the people watching and playing the game the idea that hurting people is okay, and its not.

  124. i think that they should take the approprite actions that need to be taken .

  125. I don’t think that its right because it is just a game and I think that if you run a “bounty program” your taking it too far. People get seriously injured football and if you know that you are deliberately hurting someone then that’s assault. I personally think that the coach got what he deserves for running a “bounty program” against the saints opposing players.

  126. No I don’t think that it was okay for the New Orleans Saints to pay for hits that injury other players because it gives the players something more to work for. They have more goals that others. It is also unfair for those who received the hits. They were out of the game because a player wanted more money.

  127. I don’t think it’s right for them to have a bounty on hurting other players and getting paid for it because shouldn’t football just be for fun?, not hurt others. I do think it’s fair that they got fined and their coach got suspended and i think it’s just wrong that they did it in the first place.

  128. i think that what they got was fare it is not good to be payed for something agenst the roles of any sport it can put people in danger and git people hart that dont need to be

  129. I don’t think it was a good idea, but the consequences were ridiculous. 500 k is nothing but Sean Payton is one of the best head coaches in the league and i’m pretty sure almost every team does this to some degree even if it’s just paying a teammate $100 to force a fumble.

  130. No, i don’t think it was okay because it’s very mean to hurt people just to get money. They already have a lot of it because they are part of the NFL. They are also a good team so they don’t need to hurt people for money.

  131. I do not think it was a good idea because if they hurt somebody really bad then the player that got hurt would maybe not be able to play again. It’s a good thing that coach was suspended because they would just keep hurting people if they hadn’t suspended him.

  132. I think that the bounty program was encouragement to be more aggressive on the field I don’t necessarily think it was a bad idea because all those major league football players know what they are getting themselves into when they join a full contact sport like that.

  133. It sounds wrong when someone says it but if you actually think about it, I can see how it isnt such a bad thing. My opinion depends only on the intentions of the “bounty” I think if the bounty is made over actually harming the player for reasons outside the game then I think its bad. But if its made to make the players on defense to work harder I think it is perfectly ok.

  134. I don’t think that it is okay for a team to run a bounty because it is just kind of playing dirty, but I do think however a good portion of NFL teams have done this at one time or another. I think that if your paying your players to hurt other players and then paying them should have a bit more serious consequence for the coach and GM of the team.

  135. Well I don’t think its right to penalize the offense for something the defense had done. And doesn’t the NFL monitor the amount that the players get and realize there getting more money for more injuries? So as my answer no a bounty program for the saints is not right.

  136. No, it is not right to pay someone money for injuries dealt to other people who are just trying to play the game to the best of their ability. What if the person they hurt had a family that they had to take care of and were rendered unable? However, I do say, “Don’t mess with the Saints”.

  137. No! not at all, i get what they were trying to do, they were trying to strive to do better. But when it gets down to the point, your hurting people who love football and dream of playing it for a long time, and for all they new, they could of ruined their dream. If they really wanted to do better they could of paid them an increase in money or every time they do something horrible, take away money, because its all about the money. I think they did the right thing suspending those behind and those who knew about it, its okay to hurt someone, but not purposely.

  138. In my opinion I don’t think they should have ran a bounty because the longer you run one the more trouble you will get into when people find out. Also running a bounty is just going to hurt more players in the long run if the Saints were getting paid to do it. All the players wanted was the money to do a very bad and hurtful thing to other people in the National Football League.

  139. No, I don’t think that they should have run a bounty program because they could hurt a lot of players. If they hurt other players than it isn’t fair to the teams that have hurt player because they can’t use them in the game which means they can’t make to being the best.

  140. I don’t think it is okay for them to run a bounty program. It’s not in the spirit of the game to injure other players on purpose. Rewarding those actions is even worse. While motivation is always needed for the team to play hard, there are better ways to do it. Bounty programs are a dirty way for coaches to get their team going.

  141. no, there are rules in the game to make sure this doesn’t happen. Football would be boring if teams like the saints took out some of the best players. If they really want to win, maybe they should beat them with there talent and performance, not play dirty. I would made the defensive players pay just as much as the coaches, they did the deed

  142. it is not okay that they do that because it is not good to hurt people. It is football though and if you get hurt than you get hurt. the only way to hurt sombody is to hit them really hard. so just watch out for them.

  143. There’s some good and some bad. It’s wrong to pay players to hurt other players and get them out of the game. But doing this can help a team win many games because their best players and other good players would be out due to injury. The program would make people money and would make players more aggressive, which the audience likes to see.

  144. No, because its not right to do that. What if someone go hurt so bad that it caused serous injury’s, and this bounty means there getting paid to hurt people, and hurting people for money is against the law.

  145. No. You play the game to play it fair, tackling is already apart of it, and if you pay them just to tackle, that is for injury as well. The game has a primary objective, so you need to focus on it.

  146. I dont know.

  147. Yes, I do think they should be able to do that. It’s probably helped them do well in games before so that’s helpful, and if they get paid that just makes it better. I don’t really care though.

  148. I don’t think that it is appropriate. However, I think that pretty much any NFL team does this if any player on the opposite team, pose a threat to the wins or stats of the team. Most often players don’t get taken out of games for injury, and the Saints hardly injured anyone this year, $500,000 is chump change, its a BS report and issue.

  149. i think having a bounty is a bad idea because player will just start trying to hurt people then actually playing the game. and thats not going to win a game. it is a disgrace to good sportsmanship and should be stopped.

  150. In your opinion was it alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money? WHY or WHY NOT?
I dont see why its a big deal, and its not like i watch football, nor care about.

  151. I don’t think it was right for the Saints to run a bounty program because it encourages players to play for the destruction of other teams which isn’t what the sport should represent. They should find a better way to motivate players.

  152. No i don’t think that was a good idea. Evan know you play to win, you shouldn’t get paid to hurt people, like being a hit man of something like that.. But i wouldn’t be surprised if most teams have a similar program, but still its not right in general.

  153. i don’t think they should be running this program,. i don’t see why they should pay the players just to injure other people. if there trying to make extra money they should find another way.

  154. I think it was a really bad idea for the Saints to start a bounty program. Yes, you do get money from this, but it’s not worth hurting others. If they’re really that cheap on money they should just get a side job or something. I’m not surprised why they got penalized so much.

  155. In my opinion is it not alright for the Saints to run a bounty program which promoted injury opposing players for money because if we payed people for injuring others so many people would be hurt. Also this would just be plain wrong, hitting someone and getting paid to do so?! That is good the coach was suspended for the season and fined.

  156. I think that hurting players to get money is the wrong thing to do. Someone was going to find out about it. It just hurt there team in the long run anyways. So yes it was a bad idea to do that.

  157. even though that the saints have a well respected football program capable of many super bowl wins, this is a terrible thing that is happening. it could potently end the careers of many great players of the game. the other people that this is happening to, they worked hard to get where they are today and to be injured by cheap shots in the knees or late hits when they are not expecting it. this should be stopped immediately.

  158. Um, no. That is so stupid. Just getting paid to hurt other players? Obviously not. How would you like to end up getting hurt & the person who did it, gets paid for doing that? I know i wouldn’t, because it just is terrible. People would probably get to aggressive especially since they are guys. I am just so against that.

  159. No, it is immoral. The saints prioritize idols of hedonism rather than physical health.

  160. No i do not think it is right because they r getting paid to hurt people what if the person got serously injured

  161. I don’t think so because it causes a lot of injuries but it also gives better motivation.

  162. Yes because then football would be more interesting.

  163. No i dont think it was right for the coach to run a bounty. but at the same time i dont think he should be punished for it. the reason for this is that player will try to hurt to win anyway.

  164. i think that it was right for them to fine the coach for doing that because its not right to pay your players to injure someone thats not football.

  165. No. I don’t think that they should be payed to harm other players and on top of that it gives them motivation to hurt other opponents because they will get extra money. So it’s making them want to do something to harm someone else. I think that the coaches should have known better then to do this. They know right from wrong, and this was wrong.

  166. absoulutly not i think every single player should be sewed for what they did its just so wrong to do that and i think you would have to be a crazy person to do that.

  167. I think what the Saints did was kind of messed up. Football should just be played with aggression, not the intent of injuring someone for a bigger paycheck. I think they should have hurt other players just because they want to win, not for money. I think its totally OK to hurt players, but not for money. All of the coaches involved with the bounty should be fired.

  168. I think the bounty program can be good and bad thing. I think that it would motivate players to try harder and be better. If it helps them be a better defense then i don’t see no harm in it. It can be a bad thing though because players can make illegal or dirty hits on other players. This potentially can injure many offensive players and put their football career out.

  169. i think it was probably the most stupid decision he will ever make in his football career. The game of football is already very physical and players get hurt and pulled out of games when its played fairly anyway. So the idea of paying your players to try and take someone out will persuade them to hit after the whistle and focus on that more than the actual game of football.

  170. I do not think it was alright for the Saints coach to do that at all. If all he wants to do is hurt other players, then he shouldn’t be the coach of a football team. I know football is supposed to be intense and tough but you also want to have fun. If players are just supposed to hurt other players, then that is awful. Even the idea of it should be illegal and he, and all others involved, should be punished.

  171. People say that this might be okay because teams want to get the other teams star players out. That is not right because you are playing that way, winning wont accurately depict the best team at football, but the best team at knocking people out of games which is not what football is about.

  172. i think it is wrong because that is paying someone to harm another person. harming others for money would be foolish actions by the inflicted and degrading to the inflicted. harming people even without the money is rude and savage like. we live in 2012 we shouldn’t be acting like crazy people harming one another.

  173. I would have to say that it is not okay for them to do the bounty. Injuring other teams player just to win a game is not right and should not be done. I don’t care if they wanted to win all the way to the super bowl or what ever. It is not right, if a team wants to win then they have to do it the right way.

  174. Of course not, I understand it temps the players to get better and bigger hits but it’s wrong to injure the other player for money, you could rune his career and his life. If you want to hit good you have to practice and not just injure the player, a good hit is a solid clean tackle, not a hard cheap dirty hit.

  175. I don’t think the bounty program was a right thing to do. Its almost inhumane if you think about it. Paying people to hurt people, that’s not right. Plus the coaches got suspended. It was just a bad idea all around.

  176. No i do not think they bounty program was okay to run at all. I don’t see why the players wanted to knock out other players for money, they already get paid very, very well. I dont think the saints were let off easy to be honest

  177. I don’t think it is right, because safety is more important than money. On the other hand, it would cause people to work harder to get paid more money. But it is causing danger to other players.

  178. The bounty program can be a good thing cause it will make player want to do better or try harder. The program will help the player make money but I don think it is necessary to make it only if the hurt someone. If the made it that they would get payed for a good tackle or play it would be better.

  179. I believe that a bounty program is not good for foot ball. It makes the game unfair and not fun to watch. I think the coach deserved the $500,000 fine.

  180. in my opinion i think this is a terrible idea, this will promote more injury and bad sportsmanship.

  181. I think it isn’t right but then again it is right. I think it would inspire players to work harder and play to their fullest abilities to try and get paid more money. The reason it is wrong is because it is putting other players in danger.

  182. In your opinion was it alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money? I don’t know, I don’t see why that’s a big deal. WHY or WHY NOT? Because football is already a sport where you hurt people / get hurt, now they’re just getting money for it.

  183. no it wasn’t right of them to do that for money. because it caused the team a lot of money and losing their coaches that help them. also that it could cause major injuries to the team players.

  184. I think this is bad but since it’s under the table, they should be able to do it. Without anyone knowing though. But now that everyone knows about this, yes they should pay the consequences. That’s not right.

  185. no i believe it was not alright for the saints to run a bounty program in which promoted injuring opposing players for money. The reason i say this is because it is harmful to the other players. Also what if they were the one’s getting hit for money.the sport is already a serious danger that is just making the risk even more greater.

  186. I do not believe that it is fair for the players to run the “bounty” program. It hurts other players and it could lead to serious injuries. Even though it helps them get stronger, they have other ways of doing just that. I think it is fair that they get fined for all of the injuries that made.

  187. No, i don’t think that this is right. There is no reason why coaches should be promote this to their players. You are penalizing the guy who has worked hard to get there and just because he is good, you do this. Its not right at all, and i bet you more teams are doing the same thing.

  188. i think that the coaches should not be suspended because they were trying to make their players work and hit harder. also many other team most likely have programs like this that congratulates hard work

  189. i believe the act of a bounty defense is unfair and not right. someone could get injured from this and that is not ok. i think it was wrong of the saints to run this program and they should be punished.

  190. I think yeah it’s wrong but if it makes the players push hard to get there money then why not? It’s not just the other team there putting in danger they are putting themselves to. They should have known the what could happen in the end if they did get in trouble for it.

  191. I think it is fine. It gives them something to strive for and it helps them get better. But on the other hand, it can result in the injury of a player.

  192. I don’t think that they should be having bounties, because one players are getting fined because of their being to many injuries so they placed in rules so less people get hurt and two its wrong. I think if they want to put bounties on players they should just pay them for big hits not the illegal ones that hurt other players.

  193. I don’t think that it’s right for them to promote that kind of thing. Yes, it might make them try harder, but being too aggressive and getting rewarded for it might not be the best approach.

  194. I don’t think it was right for the Saints to institute the bounty system. Trying to injure other players intentionally is stupid. It shows that they are trying to hurt other players because they don’t think they can beat them on pure skill alone. It doesn’t teach the importance of sportsmanship and ruins the point of the game.

  195. Obviously you shouldn’t run a bounty program. The NFL is trying to reduce injuries and when you pay people to hurt others that goes against every moral value. The whole staff should be fired and fined. Also players who received the bounty should also be suspended.

  196. I think it’s half and half. Half ok and half not. It’s ok because it’s pushing the players to work really hard and get those really good hits in. This will take out the really good players on the opposing team and give them the upper hand. But it’s not ok because it could ruin a really good players career and it would take away his income and finacial support. The coach shouldn’t have gotten suspended because he wasn’t really involved, he was just aware of what was happening.

  197. No. Its not right that they PAY people to hurt other people. Its illegal. That’s just making them think they can do it out of football too!

  198. Your Question: In your opinion was it alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money? WHY or WHY NOT?
Um, no? Why would they think in any way shape or form this is okay? The sport is dangerous enough, resulting in concussions, bones breaking, and more. This is really wrong.

  199. I do not think that the bounty program was the right thing to do. That is very selfish and not a good idea in anyway. You should not get payed for injuring other players! That’s so incredibly wrong.

  200. No, because it’s very unsportsman-like, and official leagues should be above stunts like that. What’s the point of having an official, regulated league if teams do things like this?

  201. I think it was a very good idea, the point of football is supposed to be rough so id they do this, they will get better and take the competition out.

  202. I don think its okay to have started that. you should injure other players just because.

  203. I think that it was wrong for the bounty program to be started. To purposely injure other players is kind of sad to think about. The people in the NFL have worked hard all of their life to even be able to make it into the league. I’m sure the saints would not like it if their players were intentionally targeted.

  204. I do not think teams should be able to have a bounty system, because it supports bad sportsmanship. Paying people to injure other players seems plain wrong. Injuries do happen during the course of a game, but purposefully forcing someone to have to leave the game is unfair. Supporting programs like this will result in permanent injuries to players.

  205. I think that the bounty for injuring players was a bad idea. They should be fined and suspended because that is something that shouldn’t be done. People will just start intentionally hurting each other and it will just take the fun out of football. I’m glad the defensive coordinator is gone because that is not fair to do, and I would consider it a way of cheating in a way that isn’t safe.

  206. In my opinion, it was not alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money because it’s cheating and the opposing player could get seriously injured, so it might end their football career.

  207. I think it is kind of OK because if they want to win they need to get the other teams star players out so they can’t perform. And it is not OK because that would ruin the career of some really good. But I don’t think the coach should be suspended.

  208. No, I do not think it is Ok to run a bounty program. It is savagery to pay people to hurt others more than they need to. It is not necessary to take players out of the game by hurting them so bad. There is no reason to. Football is supposed to be a fun and fair sport. Now it has turned into a drug abusing and people abusing sport. A game can be won by just stopping the offense, not taking them out. I just think it is not fair. The NFL must agree because of all the punishments that they are giving. I don’t care what people say about motivation, it is no ok to injure others for money.

  209. I think it is completely fair that the Saints have a bounty to hurt a certain player. Whether or not it is morally right is debatable. The team shouldn’t be punished for it, I have never seen a rule saying you can’t choose who you will try to hurt.

  210. I think that the “bounty” program is not the best idea because, it ruins the game for the people that are watching and seeing their favorite player get held out of the game by and injury for a decision made intentionally by the other player and it is unfair. It is unfair because they are getting money for something that can permanently keep someone from playing.

  211. I think it was not alright because all those players that got injured didn’t get a change to play, An then injuring the players for money a not a good thing, I think its cheating and the players running a bounty get more money than they should is not fair to all the other players who work as hard.

  212. I think its wrong because it ruin’s the game for many people and the fans.

  213. i believe the act of a bounty defense is unfair and not right. someone could seriously get injured from this act and that’s not ok. i think it was wrong of the saints to run this program and they should be punished.

  214. I believe that it is fine. It’s motivation for players to go out and do their best. It makes them more aggressive and can result in a win. Though I think it shouldn’t have been knocking people out of a game because that could cause some serious damage. Maybe just having a really good hit.

  215. dang…..my boy Sean Payton…bein’ a little stupid right now. Yeah you wanna win, but c’mon man bounty hunting to injure! who dat New Orleans?! Dat stupid!!

  216. I don’t think that it is alright because they could be hurting a lot of great football players and giving that state a bad reputation.

  217. no because safety is more important than money, and they should not be getting rewarded for getting people off the field, they should be taken out of the game. Their prime objective should be winning the game and doing their best… not hurting someone so badly that they can’t play.

  218. no i don’t think its right to do. Even if u get paid a lot of money its not hurting other people for money.

  219. I do not think it was alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players. The players for the Saints should be focusing on getting better, not knocking the other team out. Even if they did win more games because of the bounty program they shouldn’t find that to be an accomplishment because they would have won games in an unjust way. Also, there are already enough injuries in football without people purposely trying to hurt others.

  220. Running a bounty program to injure other players is not right. The players shouldn’t be paid to injure other players just so they could have a better chance at winning. No person should ever be paid to hurt someone else for the benefits of another. The program would give players something to strive for but taking other players out of the game is not what they should be going for.

  221. No this was not a good idea. Its messed up how someone could even do that.on the other hand dick buckis goal was to kill someone on a football field.i think he had a mental disorder tho.

  222. No it isn’t right for the Saints to run a bounty program to injure other players. If they don’t have enough skill to beat other teams despite good opposing players then they need to train harder to try to beat them. Not purposely hurt them for money or better chances of winning. This is poor sportsmanship and in my opinion could be actionable in a court. Anybody who’s ever been injured by one of the players participating in the bounty program could sue the program and the player for their injuries.

  223. I think that that there bounty program was not fair and unsportsmanlike. They should be paid to play not go around and injurer other players so that they have a advantage. That is just showing that there team is not good and they need to cheat to win.

  224. I don’t think running the bounty program was alright. I understand that in football people can get injured but I think that intentionally trying to get someone out of the game by injuring them that badly isn’t right. They shouldn’t have paid them to do it.

  225. No I don’t think its right at all. Hurting other players intentionally is not the way sports are supposed to be. The better team wins because of how they play, it shouldn’t be because they hurt another player. The coach definitely got the right punishment for the bounty program.

  226. I do not think that the bounty program was okay. All I think it did was push the players to TRY and hurt other players. I agree with all of the punishments given, since anyone who knew about it shouldn’t have gone along with it.

  227. no it wasn’t alright because hurting other players just to get money isn’t alright. someone was going to figure out that they were doing that sooner or later so for them to hurt other players for money was wrong because it just hurts them in the long run because now they have to find a new coach for 2012 and they were fined about half a million dollars so that just hurts their team the most.

  228. No, it is not alright. It is un-sportsman like to injure players so they cannot play. It could seriously affect them for the rest of there lives and might never get a full recovery. You shouldn’t be a target if you are a good player.

  229. I think that the bounty program is not right or fair. They already get paid a lot. Also its not fair for the other teams if their players are being knocked out of the game and that team loses on of their best players and they cant play anymore. I think that it is good that the saints are being fined for this.

  230. I think the Saints should not have done the bounty program because getting paid to hurt other players so they get out of the game is a terrible idea. Why would you want to put someone else’s health on the line just for yourself. I think they are selfish. And its not like those players NEED more money. I feel the players should not get paid millions. They are just playing a game. The people who work hard to help others should get paid millions, like a doctor or nurse. Someone who ACTUALLY helps people. But the saints should have gotten punished. That is not acceptable to hurt others badly, just for money.

  231. i dont think the bounty shoudlve been allowed or is fair because I wouldnt want to be hurt for money either. I think all the fines are fair.

  232. I don’t think it was okay to run the bounty program. It was bad that people were injured during games, but I think the coach deserved to be suspended for the season because what he did was wrong. They just paid to get injured, which isn’t fair.

  233. I think running the bounty program was a bad idea. They should be playing the game, to play the game, and not to injure their opponents for money. People could get seriously injured.

  234. i don’t think that this is a very good idea because players would me injured worse and more people would get injured.

  235. I think it was irresponsible to pay players to hurt people. If you want to get payed more, just have the motivation to tackle other players harder. I think the consequences the team is receiving reflects their actions.

  236. I don’t really think the saints should be punished that badly only because they are just trying to be aggressive and bring the true meaning of football back into the game. I think this gives more guys drive to do better and it works. i think it pushes offensive lines to be better and protect their players.

  237. I think running the bounty program was bad idea. I do not think it was alright for them to do the bounty program because it is not right to be trained to injure people that are doing the same stuff and trying to accomplish the same thing you are except not playing in a cheating way. I think suspending coaches was a good idea.

  238. I think the bounty program is completely unfair because all the other teams are playing by the rules like they should be, and if these guys are trying to take them out just for money, its completely against rules and regulations.Aldo they could end up majorly injuring someone

  239. I think it is ok to run a bounty program as long as the hits are clean, im sure teams all around the league run bounty programs like that. i think the suspensions are to harsh and this is un-fair to the saints organization.

  240. absoulutly not i think every single player should be sewed for what they did its just so wrong to do that and i think you would have to be a crazy person to do that.

  241. I don’t think it’s okay for the Saints to run a bounty. They could have given long term injuries and really hurt other players. The players may be more focused on hurting other players than actually playing the game of football. To have a bounty is a completely wrong thing. Hurting people just to get extra money is wrong.

  242. In my opinion it was NOT alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money because that’s cheating and is like hiring a hit man to do your dirty work.

  243. No they shouldn’t because they shouldn’t need a reward or something to look forward too. They should love the game so much and play it at 110% on their own. The best professional athletes are the ones who aren’t out there to break records. Its the the ones who just love the the game.

  244. Yes but no because they will try a lot more to get more money but no because the opposing team will have many major injuries.

  245. I do not think it was okay for the Saints to post a bounty on opposing players, trying to get them injured. If they want their players to put opposing players out of the game, the players will probably try to make illegal hits on other players, which can seriously injure them. For the Saints to support such a bad idea, they deserve the punishments they got.

  246. Your Question: In your opinion was it alright for the Saints to run a “bounty” program which promoted injuring opposing players for money? WHY or WHY NOT?\

No, I dont think it is alright becauase it can lead to major injuries and im sure that the saints dont want any majorly injured players!

  247. no they shouldnt be able to run a bounty program because they shouldnt be able to intentionally take players out of the game. i think the suspension of sean peyton was a little bit harsh but thats the price you pay for doing bad stuff

  248. What the Saints did is completely wrong. Players should not get extra money for hurting a opponent. I think the punishment meets the crime very well, and hopefully this sends a message to all the other teams out there that this will not be tolerated.

  249. I think that the bounty program is absurd because hurting people to win is completely unfair. If they don’t get punished it’s even worse. Also, others could come back and try to hurt them to win. So I think the bounty program is completely stupid.

  250. I dont think they should be running that program or that they should be trying to injure people but just playing the game. I big hit here and there is okay but not trying to kill the person every play.

  251. The NFL football team New Orleans Saints are facing serious punishments for running an under the table “bounty” program for defensive players who not only tackle players, but knock them out of the game. I think the action taken by the NFL was definitely necessary. This program is definitely not sportsmanlike, and violates not only NFL policies, but morals as well. Millions of kids in America look up to football players as role models, and to have them do something like this juts ruins their image.

  252. no because it show kinds injure each other and get rewarded for it

  253. i think that the bounty was not fair because the players could of been motivated to taking steroids just to get a little bit more money when they already have millions.

  254. I don’t think that this is OK because there are a lot of injuring others players just for money.I also think that this is bad because the players are getting hurt and they are ot even getting money i just feel this is not a very smart thing to do and this whole thing is getting them punished for what they did

  255. I don’t think they should have done this because they are now only getting punished. Also that their team will now be put down because people know about this.

  256. I dont watch football or participate in it, so I really don’t care what happens. But if I was to care, no it was not right to receive a reward for injuring a player and I think all the changes the were mad are appropriate.

  257. no it is not okay to have your players purposely hurt others for money. we don’t live in the wild west anymore we don’t put out wanted posters on other players. in my eyes all that had anything to do with this should get suspended.

  258. i think that it was wrong to do that. other players cant play now and wont make as much money as they could. they also wont be as good in the future because their injury still may impact their performance down the road.

  259. no because some of the players work so hard to get that far. they also have family’s that care about them and when they see them get heart it kills a little of them self’s seeing their brother son or father being tackled and cared of the field on a stretcher. not knowing if they will be in a wheelchair or not or if they have brain damming is rill scary for family’s to go through that. if your family dose not know well it is painful.

  260. No i don’t think it is alright for them to run a bounty on other players. The players that actually did go along with this should get fined i think, not suspended but fined for agreeing to do that. well that is what i think at least.

  261. No it was not alright for the Saints to do that. it wasn’t alright because it very unsportsmanlike like conduct and can really hurt someone. its just not fair all around.

  262. No, i don’t think it is okay to be injuring other players for money. I don’t think this is okay because other people are getting hurt for other people to make money. Also that they are now being punished, which only hurts their team.

  263. I think that this bounty should not have been promoted. They were pretty much cheating, and in a bad way.

  264. I don’t think its okay that the saints had he bounty program because you should never try to hurt someone in any sport. I don’t understand why a professional coach would pay the player to hurt someone and make them get out of the game.

  265. No, It is not alright for a team to promote Injuring other people and paying them under the table. If someone get hurt you can put them out for a season or even rune their career. I would say football is just for fun even if it is competitive.

  266. No i don’t think that it was alright to have a bounty program because its illegal. The coach shouldn’t have paid the players money for injuries of other people. I think its good they the coach was suspended and fined with $500,000.

  267. i don’t think that its OK to have a bounty on players that will hurt the other team. the players in the NFL are to big and could ruin a career of another player in a second. I think it would be OK to hurt the other players but to get paid to do that isn’t right.

  268. No it was not good for the saints to run this program the reason is that it causes injury for money that is just not right you can’t just hurt players it is not right. And it probably makes a lot of players get hurt. Why would you want to hurt them for money and what would you do with that money? So I don’t think that it is right for people just to hurt other people/ Players for money.

  269. I don’t think they should have a bounty program because its not fair to the other players that when they get hurt, that the other team gets paid for doing it, that’s not right. They should be getting more discipline than money.

  270. No it was not good for the Saints to run a “bounty” program that caused injury for money. This probably resulted in a lot of players getting hurt. Why did they want/need the money anyways? If they knew they shouldn’t have been doing it then they should have just not done it in the first place.

  271. No i don’t think the saint should be payed for injuring the other teams players. You should get payed for playing the sport so i think the coach deserves that suspension. In a game if a player does get injured its most likely not on purpose and it could be really bad if someone gets hit really bad. So yes i think the coaches and the team deserved this.

  272. Ii don’t think it’s right to run this program. I say that because you can’t just hurt people. And when you do it you get pay. That’s not right at all. What if that was you and you got hurt and you could never play that sport that you were in. And it’s what you love to do and what you train for you whole life and it ends right then and there.

  273. The Saints should have never accepted being payed to hurt other players. When people find out and things go public it makes the entire team and coaches look bad. It is not alright to hurt people, even in a professional full contact sport, and even when payed. I believe this because a person is another human being, and it is inhumane to injure one on purpose. People may also have permanent damage from head injuries or other serious body injuries.

  274. No I don’t think that it’s okay for them to run this program. The players where paid to injure there opposing team. Obviously somethings not right if the teammates are paying each other to hurt the other team.

  275. I don`t think it was fair for them to do that to people.I Think that what happened to the saints is fair. they new what they were doing was wrong so there for they have to pay the consonance.

  276. I do not think it was okay for the Saints to be doing such a thing. No one on this planet should be rewarded for intentionally hurting someone. I think that what the program has done in result of the bounty is a good punishment towards the New Orleans Saints.

  277. I don’t think it was right for the players to run a bounty program. im sure it helped them play better but if its not allowed then don’t do it because just like them u will get caught

  278. No i don’t think it was right for the coach to reward players for hurting others. This encouraged violence and could have ended players careers. I think that they received necessary punishments for this and it was wrong for them to do this.

  279. I think it is not okay that they did that also that the coach was there to promote it and ask his players to do that. Other athletes have and could have been seriously injured or worse. Also i think the punishment is fair but also why are the players not being punished for doing it also they could have refused the money and just played their game.

  280. No, it’s not alright for the “bounty” program, because if you’re promoting injuring the other players then that isn’t normal. especially since they’re promoting it for money, you should be playing the game for the game. not for hurting people & getting money,

  281. No it is not right. because that’s just morally wrong for one, and two its basically kinda cheating, and anytime they cant take down their opponents head on or face to face and get the job done right, should not be on the field cause they don’t want it.

  282. I think it is a good idea to get your defense good and to get players that could be a threat on the other team out for good. They also got to a super bowl by doing that so i guess it works

  283. I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all. I think it would be okay to run a “bounty” program during the games. People are going to get hurt anyway, so why not give people money for getting other players out of the game?

  284. No your supost to play the game the goal is not to hurt the other players for money. Its not a good idea because they could make a team forfit.

  285. No I don’t think it was okay to run a bounty that hurts other players for money, its not fair for the other team and nobody even knew about it its not fair to the other players.

  286. No i think that the bounty program was bad. I think that if they didn’t have it there would be less injuries. I think its wrong to pay someone for hurting someone else.

  287. I do not think that the bounty program was alright. Players should not be payed to hit other players. On top of a players salary he would get payed for his hits on other players. I think that it is wrong for a player to get payed for injuring other players.

  288. No, i don’t think its alright. It might have made them win a lot of games, but everyone has the same rules they need to follow. It’s not fair for them to do that.

  289. No it is not alright for any team to run a bounty program! This can hurt players for a game or just a whole season… and that is not why you play the game of football. Football is a competitive sport, but it is a lot of fun. You don’t play football to hurt others,

  290. i dontnthnk its ok its wrong payton manniny had to get coller bone surgry and shoulders surgery because of this and was out for the whole 2011 season thats some crap i agrre with all the fines they risked their jobs to get a lil extra money well they got caught now they have to pay the concequences

  291. I don’t really know about the “bounty” program. But I think that the team should not have done it. I think this because if they are getting disciplined this much for it, they should of known it wasn’t allowed.

  292. No it should not have been promoted because it shows that people are trying to show kids and get rewarded for injuring others.

  293. i say that it is int right to put a bounty on football, because if the bounty is in play, it could effect how the players play, because if they harm anyone, then they would be fined.

  294. I think that if the players hurt them with a hit and it was legal then that should be fine. I think people are stretching on what really happen. I don’t think Sean had that much to do with it.

  295. No, It was not okay for them to hold this program. This was by all means illegal. It’s a terrible thing to pay people for causing injuries, it’s not right. I’m amazed no one got arrested.

  296. No, of course its not okay for the Saints to run a bounty program. Why would you ever pay someone to hurt another person? Sure the person was getting paid good money for doing it but its not right at all. I would so mad if someone was paid to hurt me & ruin my career.

  297. I think that it was not alright for the Saints to run a ‘bounty’ program which promoted injuring other players for money. Everybody has to follow the same rules and paying someone to hurt another is wrong.

  298. As bad as this sounds….. that’s actually a good idea. It doesn’t promote injury, it promotes players hitting better and learning how to tackle better. In my point of view i think it is alright.

  299. I don’t think its right cause that is cruel and cold hearted. Football is meant to be fun and with this bounty program it just ruins it for the rest of the players.

  300. No, it is not okay to pay people to injure opponents. They could be injured for life, and be unable to do certain things they may have always wanted to do. The Bounty system they were using should be highly frowned upon.

  301. I dont think that it was right of them to create that bounty. Hurting other players just to win isnt right. It makes them look bad also. They have to injure the other team just to win, shows they cant win with out that. A good team wins by doing what is right. Also having good sportsmanship and that definitely doesn’t show it.

  302. NO i think that if a player wants to play the game that they have to take the risk of being injured or hurt… The bounty isn’t a good thing that they started up and in the end they will realize it wasn’t a good idea.

  303. no it was most definitively not ok. to run a bounty on players whom play for another team, is just plain wrong. it is a disgrace to good sportsmanship and should be stoped.

  304. I think running the ‘bounty’ program for their team encouraged players to be more aggressive, so maybe it was helping them. But, if their going out there with the intention of hurting somebody else, i think they should be punished for that.

  305. Yes and no…Yes, it gives them something to try/get better at. No, because it can end up with major injuries.
