CNN Blog – Monday, April 30

Fighting escalated over the weekend between Sudan and South Sudan. Sudan was formerly the largest country in Africa, until a peace deal was reached in 2005 which would create the new country of South Sudan in 2011. Fighting between the two sides has continued for decades now and is escalating due to disputes over oil.

Your Question (Two Parts):

Should the United States look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries?

If you said yes, what should the United States try to do?

If you said no, why not?

Remember, capitalize the first letter of each sentence and try to write between three to five sentences in your response. Also, do not forget to correct any spelling errors before you post.

  1. Why would they make changes if our government is stable? The only thing that will do is just make more problems with the government. Yes you may have your ideas and thoughts, but just keep them to yourself. The government are professional’s at what they do. They should be able to get our economy around. People trying to make the government make changes could just be a lot of money being bumped down the drain that could be used for something else.

  2. No, I don’t think that the United States should get involved in the war between Sudan. It’s not our country, so we shouldn’t worry too much about it. It would just cost the US more money and it could possibly hurt the United States. We don’t need to get involved with another war.

  3. No, because we got a lot more things to do. We don’t need to help other countries get over their own disputes. They should solve it on their own.

  4. I think the United states should just stay neutral and just let the other big countries handle it. This kind of situation can cause Money problems here in the United States.

  5. the US should not be a world leader. We don’t want to be in the middle of a global war for the third time. That would just suck.

  6. i think that u.s shouldn’t cause then they would have to go to war to and the u.s should just help wan they ask for help or wan they need help but if they don’t ask or need help they should just stay out of it

  7. No, we do not need to send our men to another country to fight their battle. They might not like how we do things and we could just end up adding fuel to their fire. Then there could be another war that we can’t afford. We need to stop jumping into wars and disputes that have nothing to do with us. If we don’t, our economy could get even worse and there might be another Great Depression.

  8. I say that they shouldn’t, i say that the u.s should just focus on the u.s. The u.s should just focus on being leaders of the u.s and not any other countries. I think the 2 country’s with problems should just figure it out on there own.

  9. Well war is not always the best answer to everything. They could get a treaty and both sign it. But i’m not really sure what to do.

  10. i don’t think they should because if you take one side the other side is not going to like you and they will want to start a war with you. also you would make a bigger war then it is and why would you do that.

  11. I don’t think that the United States should get involved with any other countries conflicts. We are in our own war right now as it is. Us getting involved in other countries business is a very bad idea.

  12. No, the U.S. should not become involved in another countries issues. It is not our problem so we shouldn’t help them at all. Other countries could think that we are forming an alliance. Also, this could even anger civilians and they could shoot us. We don’t what to get shot now, do we? Plus, we don’t need to spend all this money on a project this small, only if it pays off.

  13. We should look at all of the events without choosing any side to support. This mean talking it out with each side at the same time. I think it would be good to let other countries know that even though things might not be that great the best we can do to stay on pace to making them better is for all of us to work together. You don’t really have to spend a ton of money to send a handful of government officials to countries to meet on the borders of the countries having these problems or in other countries part of the U.N.

  14. I think that we should help settle it. But, we shouldn’t get ourselves knee deep into their problems. We are just getting out of a war, we don’t need to get back into one. Instead we can gather for a meeting of Sudan’s leaders and try to settle some disputes.

  15. I do not think that the United States should look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries. I think this because the United States always gets involved in other countries by sending military people over to the country and sending lots of money. The United States just gets itself into more financial problems by giving money to other countries that they do not give back. Other countries should be able to settle their own problems and not need the help of the United States. The United States should only get involved if the problems involve the U.S.

  16. No, we shouldn’t focus on other countries disputes. Our nation has it’s own problems. I think other countries should be able to take care of themselves.

  17. NO I DON’T THINK THAT WE SHOULD BE THE LEADERS IN THE WORLD AND HELP OTHER COUNTRIES. WE SHOULDN’T BECAUSE IT IS NOT OUR PROBLEM WHAT HAPPENS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. IF IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US THEN IT SHOULDN’T MATTER.

  18. I would have to say yes. If we just let it go, then it can escalate more and more, and possibly get other countries involved. This would then lead to a world war, and we would get involved anyway. No, i am not saying that a war over 300 feet of land or something like that would lead to this. Wars like that are petty and not needed to get involved in. I am talking about things like how it seems like most of the middle east hates Israel with a passion. Iran (or is it Iraq? i think its Iraq, actually.) even said they would like to blow israel off the face of the earth. Not in those words, of course.

  19. No, I don’t think that the United States should try helping settle disputes between two countries. I don’t think that they could really make a difference if they did try because other countries are set on war for their answers. I think that if the United States got involved, then more people would get hurt.

  20. No, because if we try to make decisions for other countries then the people that live there might not be happy with which side we take. Also, it would probably just cause wars and rebellions towards the United States. The countries should be able to handle their own disputes.

  21. i think that we should get involved to see if we can stop the fighting but made be a supervise scene we are in debt. But i believe that it is our job to help those how are smaller then us. Because we were them at one point and we made it by with the help of other nations.

  22. no. I think this because we don’t want to make enemy’s. I also think this is because we don’t want one side favoring us and the other one not.

  23. I think they should, mostly because of all the parents out there having to be away from their families. If they do settle everything, then there will be even more unemployment. They need to just settle it and keep them in their jobs.

  24. I believe that if it was a case in which we could possibly be affected anyways and we had the money, we could afford to try to help. But, obviously we don’t have the money and why get ourselves into a bigger mess that we don’t need to be involved in? We would just be digging our own grave

  25. I think America should only settle a depute between countries when we are involved
and it has to do with America. I think going into other countries debacles can be dangerous and can create certain sides, arguments, and possibly war. People in other countries may get confused and things will go very wrong.

  26. I don’t think that the United States should get involved. I think that it is not our problem and that other countries need to be able to handle some thing their selves. The United States should only get involved if it starts to threaten us and other countries that have nothing to do with it. We can’t babysit the whole world.

  27. I myself believe that the U.S should not become involved. I believe this because we would most liker not reach a satisfying deal. The deals would be broken and fighting would continue. Finally we could be attacked by terrorist angry about are compromise for them.

  28. No i don’t think the United States needs to be involving themselves in other countries business anymore. The more we do that the more wars we get stuck in and the more people die. Its not worth risking peoples lives over anymore.

  29. I don’t think that the United States should look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries. I think that because we have way to many problems of our own. The United States is in debt and right now we don’t need to be spending money on helping other countries when we should be worrying just about us right now. It could also lead to more wars and more countries not liking us. Although, if the US started to improve, I think we could then help in settling more disputes.

  30. We shouldn’t seek to become world leaders because first of all, doesn’t that seem a little bit like dictatorship? We would only anger other countries and possibly cause more rage across the world. Second, we shouldn’t be getting involved in other countries problems. That could lead us to become involved, or even dive us straight into war. It’s just not a good idea.

  31. I don’t think that we should get involved in everybody’s problems. For one, our government and its people don’t have the money to. That should be enough, but I doubt that people want to loose their family over seas for something that the government chose to involve its self in. Unless we’re put in a position to fight, we shouldn’t unless the circumstances are quite horrible.

  32. no the United States should not get in on the worlds problems we have are own to worry about

  33. I don’t think that the U.S. should get involved with this. Mainly because if we do get into this conflict, one side may see us as an enemy and we could be fighting a war. So it would be best to just leave it alone and deal with the thousands of problems that we have in America and not the ones in other countries.

  34. no we should just stay back and not get involved because we would just be sending in more troops and we should keep to our self and help the people in our country and fix our self before others

  35. No we shouldn’t because if we we do we will have to go into that country and fight. If we do this it will be like Iraq all over. The only way we should interfere with anything is if someone is doing something to us.

  36. No I think the United States should just worry about us, their own state. We already have so many problems and wars to fight and I just don’t think we have any time to be worrying about anybody else.

  37. I think that the U.S should try and help out other fighting countries only if they show interest in seeking our help. Some countries may not want a foreign influence telling them what to do. It is not our call to make weather or not a country wants help. Boyah

  38. Yes, the United States should do something to help Sudan and South Sudan. One way I think is to try and find a way bring the countries to an agreement, possibly bring an equal amount of oil, bring whatever they need. Just so as long as they can stop the fighting and prevent even more.

  39. No, because it seems like whenever we interfere, we only make the countries more angry. We will just get into another war probably. We should only get involved if it really is effecting us.

  40. No i don’t think the U.S. should get involved in other countries disputes. I think that because, we have enough problems to deal with in our own country. The other countries should be able to deal with their problems on their own. We need to focus on our own problems.

  41. If we try to resolve war between the two countries we are just gonna add more fuel to the fire. They will think that we are just giving up and they have an advantage to attack us! That just shows weakness on our part.

  42. No, we have our own problems that we need to solve, and its not like if they’re going to listen to us if they hate each other to the point of war. We just need to mind our own business and leave them alone.

  43. No. We do not have the kind of money to get into even more war. We would only make things worse for everyone. Interference is not the proper way to handle a situation like this.

  44. I would say not to go and get themselves caught up in a war they didn’t even start. That has happened a lot in most of the wars the United States have been apart of.

  45. If we try to resolve feud between two countries then we could just get involved in the feud and cause more problems. As much as i think we could help and make things better, i don’t think it could happen because it could just cause more problems.

  46. Yes i think that the United States should try and settle disputes between two countries but they should do it without siding with one country. They should be more neutral and just try to settle it peacefully. This would help the United States get recognized and it would help a lot with the world violence.

  47. I think that the U.S should not help because its not any of our business with their problems. I think we should just stay out of it and let the feud between countries resolve by themselves unless something that is life risking happens then i think we should try to assist them with advice but other than that i would stay out of it.

  48. I think it depends on what countries. But no, i don’t think that it is our responsibility to settle other countries disputes.

  49. I dont think we should get into other countries business. We dont wanna go into more debt

  50. NO BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO SEND IN MORE TROOPS OVER THERE TO FIGHT THEIR BATTLE AND THEN ARE MEN ARE GOING TO DIE AND THE PEOPLE WILL START A REVOLUTION OR SOMETHING BECAUSE THIS GOVERNMENT IS NOT HELPING US ITS KILLING US.

  51. no because if we get into an argument that is not ours it could anger the rest of them.it could also cause that country to start a war with the U.S.

  52. I don’t think the United States should help with disputes between two countries. Because we already have problems in our country as it is, things like economic crash, war, etc. It would be wasteful to spend money on helping a foreign country that has no affect to us. The only thing we should be involved with those kinds of things is if they are our allies, or one of our enemies is causing problems on another country.

  53. i think the u.s has got in to many other country wars its time for us to stop trying to get involved in the war

  54. No they shouldn’t because we have enough to worry about. We shouldn’t try to lead any other country when we have our own to lead. That’d just be more work put on our hands.

  55. Personally I do not think United States should look to be a leader in helping settle the problems between the two countries. I think that if they try to get involved they will be stuck in the situation and end up fighting or hurting themselves. If we can stay out of stuff that is key because we do not want to be involved. This could just lead to causing problems.

  56. No, because I feel like we don’t need to get involved in anymore wars. We just got out of a war and we don’t need to get more Americans killed. Lets just take a brake with all these wars it is not our problem so why get involved.

  57. I think that they should settle there own fights by themselves. We shouldn’t have to get into a fight that has nothing to do with us. And that shouldn’t concern us in any way.

  58. I do not think the United States shouldn’t get between Sudan and South Sudan. It’s none of our business what goes on in their countries. Until they attack us or offend us then we shouldn’t get into their war.

  59. No, i don’t think we should get involved. Getting involved could cause another war which we don’t need and which we cant afford. We probably wouldn’t even help either, we don’t want any more conflicts.

  60. no because i dont think that it is our problem and that they should be able to help them selves but maybe a little help is fine but we dont need to help other countries by taking money from the people and we cant even help our own country

  61. I don’t think that the United State should get involved in trying to help settle disputes between two countries. It’s not our job. We should settle our own problems before trying to settle some other countries problem.

  62. I think that the U.S. should settle disputes between two countries to a certain degree. For example, if a country decides to invade another country and go on a genocide, that is where we would step in. However if it is a dispute over something little that can be settled by talking, than it should be up to those countries to settle it.

  63. I don’t think that the United States should worry so much about other countries. We have our own issues to worry about.

  64. I don’t think we should be leaders. I think that we already have our own problems, and we don’t need to settler anyone else. I think that if did become leaders we would just add more stress onto our country,

  65. I don’t think the United States should look to be leaders. I think if the US did, and war broke out between both countries, the United states would be caught in the middle of the tight rope, and we already have our hands full with out fight in Afghanistan.

  66. Yes, because we are the most advanced and we can control other country’s if we need to.

  67. I don’t think the United States should try to settle disputes between thees two countries because it’s not our job. I think we should focus on our own countries problems and the economy and not waste the military presence in a country far away that doesn’t need us. Other countries should be able to settle their own problems.

  68. I think we should only get involved with something that has to do with our own country. We don’t have the money to fight for others, especially if it has nothing to do with us. Also, we’re still at war in Iraq, and that needs to end before we get started in anything else.

  69. I think the US could help but not to deploy military forces. Countries that are involved in fighting should settle that themselves if the sides are even.

  70. I feel that the fighting in Sudan i serious. But not for us its only effecting them and not the U.S. If we intervene and try to settle it we can spend way too much money and get drawn into a war or some kind of battles and something that we cant get out of.If we go into Sudan in my mind I feel that we would draw out our resources even more and raise our debt even more and just not end well for us.

  71. No, I do not think that the United States should settle disputes between countries. I think this because the United States should be working on our country’s problems. They shouldn’t be focusing on another country’s problem.

  72. I don’t think that we should go and get between their problems. I think that we have enough problems here that we need to worry about. Once we don’t have such a big debt, then I think we can go help other countries, but for the meantime, we need to fix our own problems in our country.

  73. No, we shouldn’t because we have to stay neutral to other countries. We are in other peoples business to much. We should only help another country if they ask for help.

  74. i say no even though it would be the right thing to do we dont need to spend the money we dont have to help other people. so well save the troops. thanks

  75. No, we shouldn’t get evolved. Before we help other countries, we need to help ourselves first, like fixing our economy. Also we just don’t have the money to be getting evolved in these types of foreign matters.

  76. I don’t think that we should jump into somebody else’s problems. It could cause us to have more enemies. If a country asks us to help, it’s one thing. But we should not butt in on other country’s matters.

  77. I do not think that the United States should look to be leaders. We have our own problems. They shouldn’t have to make sure other countries aren’t fighting. It should not be our problem.

  78. I don’t think that the US should do that because it might lead us to disputes with other countries. On the other hand, the world could be a better place if we help everyone with their problems. But it might become dangerous.

  79. no i don’t think America should look to be Leaders in the world looking to help people…i think we should let other countries decide to do whatever they want and we should try to fix are own country instead of helping others.

  80. I don’t think we should help because it would cause another war that we don’t need. It is Sudan and South Sudan’s problem, not ours. I also think that it is no big deal because we dont get anything from it.

  81. No, because we are not the best country and do not want to get into another war. They can take care of it, they are a country and can deiced for them self.

  82. I think we should step in if there is a reason to such as war crimes. I know but don’t agree that our country would send troops in just because oil is involved. I really don’t think that violence will solve there problems anyways.

  83. No, I think we should stop getting being part of other random countries’ problems. It’s really annoying. It could cause us huge conflicts if we keep doing this.

  84. I don’ think that the U.S. should be getting into another countries business. I think that we should let them figure it out for themselves. If we get into another countries problems then we could just start problems with a country that we don’t want to get into a fight with.

  85. i think they should be cause we could ally with the opposing forces. if we allied with the other countries then if there is ever a big then we will have all of those country working with us and not against us.

  86. No i don’t think that the united states should help other countries because even though tit might help out that country. We don’t have enough money to just help out other countries.

  87. i believe that we should not go and do something that is point less as that.if the conflict was terrible and many was suffering than we could help out but mostly no.it takes money to and lives witch we cant afford to loose.

  88. No the United States shouldn’t help other countries. Helping can cause goes on us, but also cause wars. This can cause us to go into debt and enemies. Some countries can hate us for the things we “help” them with.

  89. No the United States should not be settling disputes between two different countries. It is none of our business. We need to be more isolated here in the U.S. We need to take care of our own before we can go mess with other people/countries.

  90. I don’t think that the United States should look to be leaders because if they aren’t our allies than they should be able to handle their own problems. Unless their problems are causing us problems or are hurting innocent people in the United States we don’t need to.

  91. I think the U.S. shouldn’t help settle disputes between other countries because what if those two countries go to war. If we help and the two countries go to war the U.S. will get dragged into it too. We shouldn’t help them because we don’t need to lose more people fighting some other persons war.

    • I agree, we already have our hands full enough. We don’t need anymore troops being deployed to other countries, especially when we’ve been in our own war for over 11 years with Afghanistan and certain other countries in the Middle East.

  92. If these events do not affect our country, the United States should not bother getting involved. Africa is far away, but I do realize that America is a powerful nation that can help. A little dispute is okay as long as it is cleared up without a big battle.

    #ЯƎVLUTÎN

  93. No we should stay out of it and let them settle it on there own. And the US should just focus on things that will help our government and economy out.

  94. I don’t think that we should help because it will only make our economy worse. We will lose more money and if the opposing side wins they might charge a higher price for oil. It is best if we just wait for things to settle down.

  95. i think that we should keep to our self in all these kind of things we should gist let other places do what they want and go to war with who they want with out the us bothering them and telling them what they can and cant do we do not control the world

  96. I think that the United States should look to be leaders in the world in helping disputes between countries. I think we should help people not get killed like people are in Sudan. I think we should help the people of other countries peacefully and not with war. Also if a country does not want help then we should stay out of it because then it could backfire on us. Basically we should help other countries if they want help from other nations.

  97. I think they should because then there will be no war and love one will come home. Kids are missing there parents and or siblings, we would have a chance to see our family or friends again all happy without the war getting in our way. The war ending would probably bring peace to must of us.

  98. No i don’t think that we should do anything about their fighting. We have our own problems to worry about and we shouldn’t be adding more. Sudan and South Sudan should fix their problems by themselves.

  99. No. The U.S. needs to worry about the U.S. not some other foreign country. We have our own problems here.

  100. No, I do not think that they should settle disputes between them. The united states should not need to worry about them but be more involved with us. Maybe we would be doing better

  101. I think that it depends on whether the United States is tied in with one or both of the countries. If they help us in some way then I think that we should step in and help. I think that it also depends on what the people want. We should have a voice on whether we want to spend the time and money settling a dispute between the two countries.

  102. I think the United States should stay out of it and just mind their our business because there’s a chance that they could start something that they don’t mean to and it could lead to something bad and possibly even create a new war. We could help if other countries asked us to help them but if they don’t, the U.S. should just stay out of it.

  103. I think that the united States should help different countries but at the same time I think that we shouldn’t because when the country we are trying to help ends up going to war and we are an allied with them then we end up going to war too. Then our troops end up dying and all because we couldn’t mind our own business, even though that doesn’t seem like the real reason that’s how I look at it, personally.

  104. I don’t think that the US should be in charge of settling other country’s disputes because than we will be sending more relief people over there which will coast money. I think that the other countries should grow up and handle their own crap because if they cant come to an agreement on anything than they do not have leaders fit to run the country. I think that the US should just let everything play out between countries and only get involved if we are part of it or they are threatening as a country.

  105. No, i do not think that we should help countries out right now. We have our own problems to deal with at the moment and don’t need to get involved with any other problems. Plus if we help them out they may eventually in the future not like what we did and start another war with us and put more on the country than we need. Money is also an issue too, we need to spend our money on things we need first to keep the country stable, not spend it on others.

    • Yeah that’s true but it also depends on whether that country helps us out and if we are going to be affected.

  106. I believe we shouldn’t get involved. It’s not our business, and it will cost us more lives and more money. However, we got involved in Libya and it was the same situation. The U.S. needs to remain consistent. If we’re going to help one nation, we need to help them all, therefore if we get involved in Sudan we should also become more active in places like Syria.

  107. I think we should leave the other country alone because if we helped them, we might get into a situation where we get involved in war. We also have our own problems to take care of before we go and help fix another countries problems. This would also use up a lot of our money that we need.

  108. LEAVE OTHER COUNTRIES ALONE!!! George Washington said that we should stay NEUTRAL! Helping other countries just puts us in debt and makes us enemies! Enemies+Debt=War. War-money=Lost War

  109. I do not think that the us should get into other countries business because it may just end up starting war with us. That would not be good because we are already at war. We should let them do whatever they want and let them fight for their own country just like we do in the united states.

  110. No, they should not be leaders because it’s none of our business and every country runs their own country in different ways.

  111. I don’t think that we should get involved in the fight. We just got out of the Iraq war and we are in debt. It is not our job to keep the peace in other countries. But I think it is fine to send the good side supplies but only if they pay us back.

  112. I do not think that the U.S. should get involved with settling disputes in Sudan and South Sudan. We do not need to go into another country and help settle this when we are not even part of it. This will only cause more problems for us and could end up with us fighting in another war.

  113. I think the United States should begin to help other countries settle disputes. I think that the United States input would be greatly effective for the people of Sudan and South Sudan. The United States can give them input that they themselves didn’t think of in the first place. Also we can try to settle it in a nice manner instead of them fighting with guns and things like that.

  114. No the us should not try to settle this argument between the two countries because it would just add more rage and anger into the war, and we cant afford it. we are already in debt, why would we put ourselves that much more into depression.

  115. I don’t think its our responsibility to settle the rest of the worlds problems. I think that if they have them that they can figure it out. That seems to be the smartest thing so that we don’t get brought into the conflicts too.

  116. I don’t think that the United States should be settling disputes between other countries. I think that would be a good way to make enemies. If one country doesn’t like how you are trying to settle their dispute than some one else will have to settle a dispute between the United States and the other country. I think that own countries should settle disputes by themselves. It’s not our problem.

    • i agree why would we put ourselves into a harmful position if we aren’t apart of it.?

    • Why shouldn’t the United States help with settling disputes in other countries? I think it is a good idea for the United States to help out. We could give them reasons for not fighting about stupid things that they didn’t think of in the first place.

  117. No, the United States shouldn’t get between Sudan and South Sudan. It’s none of our business what goes on in their countries. Until they attack us or offend us in any way then we shouldn’t get into their war.

  118. I don’t think that the United States should become involved with other countries problems. It is their problems to deal with not ours. Also if we help Sudan other countries would want help and rely on us for help.

  119. No, how could they make a change? In my opinion they should just stay out of it because then that will just cause trouble.

  120. Should the United States look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries?

If you said yes, what should the United States try to do?

If you said no, why not?

I don’t think the United States should help settle disputes because that could get some innocent people killed. The only way the USA should get involved is if are country is being targeted. We should focus on are own countries problems before others.

  121. I think they should. This could possibly effect gas prices. Ask anyone and they will all agree its already to high.

  122. I think that the United States should just worry about us. They shouldn’t bring other countries into this, because it is just going to cause controversy.

  123. No I don’t think the U.S should help settle disputes between two countries because its not really any of our business. We could end up just starting a war or something and we don’t want that, so we should just stay out of it.

  124. No i don’t think we should. We have are own problems. We need to stay out of other peoples problems.

  125. No they shouldn’t. It will cost lots of money. Also when other things come up the us will always have to settle the dispute and that can lead to more enemies which wont be good.

  126. Yes I do think that we should be helping in the long run it will benefit everyone that is involved cause if the countries that we help now are for some more powerful in the future we can receive help from them then.

  127. I don’t think that the U.S. should settle disputes in other countries because it could spark other fights. And i think they the U.S. should mind it’s own situations and problems instead of trying to get involved in others.

  128. Yes, we should try to get the whole world at peace. Wars are pointless unless they are really over a cause like 9/11. Some countries have bombs that can destroy huge amounts of land, and if they whole world breaks into war, then we destroy our planet. But a downside is that we would dump money and try to stop other countries while we are so far into debt as it is.

  129. No, I think it is the Countries that need to handle their own problems. The only time we should get involved is if it can harm us in any way. We are already high in debt, and we do not need to go higher.

  130. No, we shouldn’t get involved in other countries affairs they should be able to control the situation on their own. We have no need to get involved because it could backfire on us. there could be aggression twords us and we don’t want that.

  131. our country need yo stay out of other countries problem. Our econmey right now can not support to help other countries. The fight over oil should be decided between the two countries. If we help the wrong side we may have steeper prices in the future

  132. I believe that the u.s. should only get involved when necessary. If getting involved doesn’t benefit us then we shouldn’t get involved. Why should we stick our necks out for a country that might strike at us?

  133. i think they should stay out of it. let the them just blow them selves up.if its not are problem we should stay out of it.

  134. I don’t think the US should get involved. Anytime we get involved things turn out worst just let them resolve it. It takes time and it’s to early for the US to get involved. Also if it seems like we are taking sides then it can end up worse for the US. I think we should just leave them alone.

  135. I don’t think the United States should help any other countries that aren’t our allies. Because we don’t need to help them at all, and because we have our own problems to deal with like our economy.

  136. No, since when did it become our duty to become involved in every other countries issues? Because i am kind of america having to go around and be the adult and settle everything for everyone, we as america need to let others worry about their own problems for once. Its time to put effort into our own country, and bring home our men.

  137. Yes because if they stop more disputes then we probably wouldn’t have as many wars and fights.

  138. I don’t think that we should. We have enough problems and have really bad luck with getting or starting a war! I think that we should just stay out of it.

  139. No I don’t think the US should settle disputes because it would cost lots of money and war. I think we should focus more on our economy budget rather than military right now.

  140. I don’t think that the U.S should try and settle disputes between other countries. We have enough problems that we have to deal with on our own, and going and getting involved with them could create more problems.

  141. I think the United states should have a relief effort program to the natives of Sudan, but I don’t think that we should put any of our troops in there. that would be stupid. perhaps we can give the people guns and food but I don’t wanna see any of our soldiers go to Sudan to fight. i don’t know much about the current war in Sudan but we should try and help to stop there dispute, just not with our OUR soldiers.

  142. NO. the United States does not need to get involved with another country right now, getting involved with other countries does not always end up well for us or the other country. Really who should get involved are the surrounding countries that have to see the fighting and destruction everyday.

  143. No, i don’t think the united states should get between two leaders differences of each other if we don’t have to. If we tried to help we could get our own selves into trouble

  144. No we shouldn’t be the baby sitters of the world. we have had many of our own disputes with other countries. nobody came to try and rescue us so why should we do any different? war will be present in this world for the rest of time. weather we like it or not we should accept that people wont ever get along.

  145. This is a bad situation, just because it goes both ways. The U.S. could help, but our government can not afford to. If we don’t help, there will be havoc and the situation will get ugly. Needless to say, there will be slaughter, death, and all that fun stuff if we don’t intervene. But for right now, we shouldn’t help just because of our economic status

  146. i think that we should becuase it will make the world more peaceful. there wil be less wars that go on. we would end up with more allies in case a war breaks out

    • If we go help, we will probably have to pick something to do, and if one of the countries don’t like what we are doing then it could cause more war. Plus, we would be making our economy worse by sending everything over there and if people got mad they could kill our people.

  147. Should the United States look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries? No, we have to many problems of our own, and as of right now we dont have the money to “save the world”. Obviously there isn’t a whole lot we can do, and i dont see why we should care. This type of thing is happening all over the world and it would be foolish to get into it, But looking at the past well rush right in to it with no game plan.

  148. I think the U.S. should not look into helping the two countries. I think this because, if we step into the argument then it would probably cause more conflict and start another world war. I don’t think we need another war either.

  149. No, the U.S. shouldn’t get involved with this. Its none of our business and it may not even help at all and it could get us into another war. It won’t benefit us if we have to send supplies and men over seas every time a fight breaks out between two countries that have nothing to do with us.

  150. I think that at this point, the US should do pretty much whatever they can to stay out of wars. They are a major cause of the recession, many lives and broken families. I think that we should let them settle their disputes on their own unless there are massive wrong doings by the government that cause innocent casualties. If innocent people are getting killed by their government, it seems awful to say that the reason were not going into war to protect them is to protect our economy.

  151. I don’t think the U.S should get involved in disputes between other countries. For one, the countries that are fighting have their own reason for the dispute and the U.S stepping into something like that is unnecessary and can be dangerous. After getting our troops back from Afghanistan, I don’t think it would be the right choice to send more out. Sometimes, you just have to step back and not get involved in something that you don’t have to be.

  152. I think that the U.S. should not get involved with other countries disputes. I think that it will only start to cause more problems with other countries because we will be choosing a side. I think if we get involved then it could just make the problem worse and start a war we don’t need or we just can’t afford. I think if we get involved and something escalates into a war, it will cause more problems with our economy.

  153. I dont think the United States should try to help settle deputes in other countries because it will cause some kind of problem and we dont need that right now. We need to worry about the problems here before we help other countries with there problems.

  154. No, i do not think the united states should look to be leader in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries. I think this because, it is not our problem, and why get into something that isn’t our business? I’m pretty sure we don’t have to barge in the dispute and try to help them, they can figure it out for themselves

  155. I don’t think the United States should interfere with other countries problems. It’s their problem that they should be able to fix. It’s not America’s job to come help others with their problems. It could also lead other wars in the future.

  156. I do not think United States should look to be a leader in helping settle the disputes between the two countries. I think if they try to get involved they will be stuck in the situation and end up fighting themselves. If we can stay out of stuff that is key because we do not want to be involved. This just causes problems.

  157. no i don’t think that the us should try and be leaders in other countries that are fighting. because that would be very dangerous and more soldiers could be lost.

  158. I think its a good thing that the us is always wanting to help other countries. however it is not always necessary. I don’t think we need to get involved with such a little problem.

  159. I don’t think the U.S. should be the leaders in settling disputes between different countries. This is because we have problems of our here in the U.S. with our economy, strained relationships with Iraq and Iran, and that if we step into a problem that another country is having, we can easily be sucked in. And as of right now, I don’t think we should be getting into anything at the moment. Let another country step up for once.

  160. I think it would be kind of dumb if the U.S. did this. If it’s an issue with other countries, we don’t really have any authority to be involved. If that’s the case, we should just let those countries handle the situation.

  161. Yes, i believe they should because it will create allies and friends between the US and the other countries. I think they can just help them settle problems and solve disputes between each other and create peace.

  162. I don’t think that we should help settle other countries problems. We are going to waste more money and loose more life’s. It would cost us a lot to send military over there and send weapons and airplanes. Like, honestly..it isn’t our problem we didn’t do anything so i don’t see why we need to go over there? We don’t need to help out other countries when they have never really helped us out. They need to learn how to be mature and solve their own problems and not always rely on other countries to help them. It’s completely stupid if we go help them out.

  163. No, I do not believe that our country should help settle disputes between two countries. That’s like sticking our nose in their business. We really don’t have a right to step in either. Besides, the U.S has enough problems to worry about. We don’t need to try and help others before we get our act together.

  164. I say nay. We have way to many problems in our own countries to be helping others. Yes it might be one of our values to help others in need but we are in need! When the day comes when we don’t help anyone will be the day when our country is fixed.

  165. if we keep helping other people how can we expect to have enough time, money, protection, etc to take care of ourselves. if we fight other peoples wars how can we fight our own wars. if we feed everyone else how can we fees ourselves. i think we need to take care of ourselves, if two country s have a problem they should work it out by themselves and if it turns into a war they should resolve it themselves. we need to take care of our problems before we worry about others and sometimes that is hard but it is what needs to be done. if another country want to pick a fight with us then yeah we are going to show them whats what but until then we shouldn’t get involved.

  166. I think that we should hold off on joining in the war. Maybe something they can handle this themselves. If it goes on for more than a year the united nation should interfere but not just the u.s.

  167. No, I don’t think that the United States should help other countries settle disputes and look to be leaders in the world of help because I think that it’s not the United States problem to worry about other countries not getting along.

  168. I think that we should intercede. Its none of our business, we need to start worrying about ourselves. Unless this effects us somehow, we should stay out of it. We shouldn’t spend our money for someone else problem

  169. I do not think that we should settle disputes from other country’s and their leaders. i doesn’t directly effect us. If it could start a nuclear war that involves the entire world, then we should take it upon us to decide who is right and wrong I think we should help them decide which one is right, but not have the final decision.

  170. I dont think that the USA should try to settle disputes between the two countries. I think this because the countries have there own leaders that are there to lead. If we “help” were just gonna mess up everything. If a war starts and were over there we all know our troops are gonna get deployed and we dont want that. Were just getting them back from Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with deploying our troops we would be sending money along with them and we cant afford that either. Out economy sucks as it is let alone if we were supporting another country.

  171. No i believe that our government can’t just get into other country’s affairs. The reason i say this is because it can make the U.S. a part of the conflict. Another reason is that if we get into other country’s affairs its just putting more debt and more jobs at stake and making our government crumble like milk and cookies.

  172. Should the United States look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries?
No, not at all in any way. That would just be straight up stupid. I don’t understand why we can’t just mind our own business. If we did that our problems would be little to none.

  173. I don’t think the united states should worry about another countries problems. They should worry about the problems here. The only reason they should but in is if the situation affects us in a big way.

  174. I don’t think that the U.S should do this. What would we even do to help them. I think that we just need to stay out of it and let them decide what they want to do, its not our business.

  175. I do not think the government to get into a dispute between two countries. Our own country isn’t even set on the right track yet and getting into two other countries business is not going to help us at all. Our government needs to learn to leave other countries alone and let them settle the way they want. Sometimes they can be help but in this case I think it will just ruin our country even more.

    • I agree, our country is barely recovering from the recession and starting another war and other problems with other countries is the last thing we need to be doing right now.

  176. NO because we do not need to get in the middle of any war because that is a bad idea. It is on the other side of the world leave it alone.

  177. I don’t the United States has the authority to settle disputes between North Sudan and South Sudan. This would just put us in the middle of it. We have our own problems to deal with.

  178. I don’t think the U.S. should step in to try to resolve the issues between Sudan and S. Sudan. The U.S. military is already in plenty of places taking care of things and I don’t think it’s our business to try and get involved with Sudan. I think Sudan and S. Sudan need to figure out their problems on their own. I think they are capable of negotiating without our help, they’re smart human beings too. I think too much outsider help could cause more problems than there already are and it would be a bad idea to get involved.

  179. No, I think the US should work on fixing our own problems. We don’t to try to settle disputes with other countries cause that’s not what we’re supposed to be doing. We’re supposed to be making money.

  181. i dont think the U.S should help with disputes between other countries. If we go in and try an help we could end up making people mad at us. Anyways we have enough trouble to deal with in Afghanistan.

  182. No, the U.S needs to stay out of this. We have our own problems to worry about. What could we even do anyway?

  183. I believe that we shouldn’t get into every little dispute. If we do then a lot of countries would turn to not like us for not agreeing with them. This could lead to a bigger war. I say just let them settle it themselves.

  184. I do not think the United States should become involved in the dispute between Sudan and South Sudan. The countries are not an ally of ours. And we have to fix our problems !st.

  185. No I don’t think we should get involved with other countries because it is there dispute not ours and it would just cause problems that we do not go on sides with and cause more disputes.

  186. I think we should. We are one of the most powerful countries in the world, and I think we’ll be able to help other countries resolve their problems. I think the U.S. should just try and write a treaty that helps unite the countries that are fighting.

  187. not our country not our problem

  188. No, because the United States is not in prime condition. We need to focus on healing ourselves before launching into any new fights. And besides, these two countries need to settle their disputes on their own, it’s not our job or concern to interfere with them.

  189. The United States doesn’t have the authority to settle disputes in far away countries like the Sudan. There should be some kind of league of African countries designed to settle these kinds of disputes. The country is not our ally and if we go in favor of one, the other won’t be to kind to the U.S..

  190. I do not think the United States should become involved in the dispute between Sudan and South Sudan. The countries are not an ally of ours, so we are not obligated to help them. Making a decision to help other countries with a 15.6 trillion dollar debt seems irresponsible. This conflict will most likely lead to terrorist forces fighting for control in the unstable country, which could cause something like the war in Afghanistan.

  191. I think that our government is ridiculous. They always have to be busting into other fights and we end up in the middle and we waste so much on this stuff. We don’t earn anything fighting them or with them. I also think that the U.S should just stop cause we pretty much end up in every war there is.

  192. I think that the U.S. should step in to help another country if the dispute they are having is affecting others. There really isn’t a reason for the U.S. to get involved over a little problem and also other countries need to learn how to work things out on their own. We have our own problems here that need to be dealt with before we step into someone else’s problem. The U.S. doesn’t have to control everything that happens in the world because they really need to focus on the problems that need to be dealt with.

  193. I think yes but we need to be prepared for war just in case we need to be. Because now there is war within a country odds are we will be brought into war if we try to help. But if we don’t help war could possibly happen everywhere else and spark WW III. So its truly a double edged sword their will be no winner only losers in this argument.

  194. I don’t think that the U.S. should interfere with other countries issues. If this has nothing to do with the U.S. we should probably just stay out of it. Also this could cause a war with America which could result in a big waste of money.

    • Exactly, and the last thing we need to do is waste more money.

    • exactly if we help everyone else and not ourselves how are we suppose to keep ourselves out of a depression because of our dept, if we need protection and our army in in south Sudan how can we protect ourselves we need to help ourselves first.

  195. No, because we have our own things to worry about and fix things. The other reason i said no is because we need to fix getting out of debt, fixing house torn down by the tornado’s, etc.. I said yes also because it would be good to help out other countries so we could allies.

  196. I think that we should get our own country on track first before we help anyone else.We don’t need to loose more people. We have our own priorities first.

    • i agree, if we don’t help ourselves we hurt others because they rely on us. so really we are already helping others so we need to keep ourselves afloat.

  197. I don’t think the United States should help settle disputes between two countries unless we are asked to. Also, we currently are having our own problems and we should work on solving that first.

    • I agree, we shouldn’t get involved in something that could just cause problems for our country before we even fix the issues we already have

  198. I honestly do not believe that the United States should look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries because many countries don’t want our help, and we don’t need to be sticking our nose in every problem that arises. It won’t benefit us if we have to send supplies and men over seas every time a fight breaks out between two countries that have nothing to do with us.

  199. I don’t think the U.S should get involved. There’s a chance that things won’t even change, and interfering might just make things worse for them, and ourselves. I think it would be more safe just to stay out of it.

    • Yes, I agree. If we become involved most likely this will not solve the problems but rather make them worse and the U.S. will end up fighting.

  200. I do not think The united states should try to settle deputes between two different country’s because it may put our country at danger.

  201. I do not think that the U.S. should try to resolve the conflict between Sudan and South Sudan. I do not think that the U.S. should get involved with conflicts between two countries is because the last thing that a country wants when they are fighting, is more foreign influence. The only time that I think the U.S. should get involved in conflicts between two countries is if our country is in danger, or if the conflict involves one of our allies.

  202. I don’t think that the United States should be leaders in the world by helping two disputing countries. I think that the United States should figure out what we need done in our country first, because the Unites States has problems that need to be fixed sooner rather than later. Also if the United states helped another country like it has been doing when we have been in trouble and helping the other country has made problems worse in the United States.

  203. The U.S. shouldn’t settle disputes between two countries unless they are valuable allies with us. Because if we do it could spark up a war, which wouldn’t be very helpful, also by staying neutral this allow the other countries to solve their problems themselves and become a possibly stronger country, depending on which side wins

    • I agree. That’s how we won our Independence and the wars that followed, such as the war of 1812. We became a stronger country thereafter, and we should let Sudan settle their issues on their own.

  204. No, I don’t think the United States should help settle disputes between two countries. This could cause more problems that we don’t need. It could also cause us to become more in debt, which could cause more problems.

  205. I think the U.S. has always tried to help other countries with problems they were or are facing, and being that we have a somewhat, stable economic system at the time being, if we’re able to help in anyway possible, we should. War is a different matter though, because we’re always draining money down the pipe in wars. The U.S. needs to figure out a way not to over exert themselves over the world, because one day, all that money might be gone. No more to spend on tq..

    • But if its none of our business and we don’t know the whole story we could make it worse don’t you think?

    • This may go the way everyone wants them too, but it seems like most likely this will just end up with U.S. being involved and going to war. It seems better to just have the U.S. stay out of it!

  206. No, i don’t think the United States should try to settle disputes between other countries because it is not our business. If we try to interfere we could make one of the sides angry and then we would be involved in a bad way as well. We need to try our best to stay away from battles so we can stay strong and keep our men alive as well.

  207. No i do not think that the U.S. should help settle disputes with other countries that are not our allies. I think this because it is a waste of our own countries money and puts soldiers on the line just like how we had soldiers in Libya. The U.S. should try to be as neutral of a country as possible so they don’t have any enemies and don’t get involved in other conflicts.

  208. No I don’t the U.S. should be helping to settle disputes between two countries. The reason they are arguing doesn’t affect us so by getting involved would most likely hurt us and put us in debt. Also we don’t want to have one side get mad because of the way we helped and the outcome and them have them attack us.

  209. I don’t think the U.S. should try to be a leader by helping to countries settle disputes because it really isn’t any of our business. If it involves us then sure go ahead, but if it has nothing to do with us it is not our business and we shouldnt be jumping in and trying to help, because we could just make it worse.

  210. I do not think that we should help. I think this because the last thing countries want is to have someone foreign come in, that think they know all, and tell them how to run their country. It would only end worse for the United States.

  211. I don’t think that the United States alone should be responsible for settling international conflicts. That is what the UN is for. I think the U.S should be involved, but not get too involved. We are already trillions of dollars in debt. We should handle our own problems before we go poking around in other business.

  212. I don’t think the U.S. should step in and be leaders because you have to let people settle things on their own and not step in every time. I think this will help the countries to. its like when a kid is being bullied and tells a parent steps in every time. sometimes you have to let the kid stand up for himself every once and a while.

  213. The country of Sudan was formerly the largest country in Africa, and also one of the most torn by a genocidal civil war. A peace deal last year settled the dispute by creating a new country, South Sudan, but the fighting between the countries is far from over. I don’t think the United States should get involved in this conflict since it isn’t our business, it’s two countries on a different continent. If mediation is necessary, then an international organization, such as the United Nations, can get involved, but it isn’t America’s place to step in.

  214. No, I do not think that the United States should get involved in trying to solve a dispute between North and South Sudan. We should not get involved with other countries issues. We need to worry about our own problems and not get involved with others. Trying to get involved with other countries disputes could make other countries mad at us and then start a war that could be avoided.

  215. I do not think we should. My reasoning is that we should first get our own country running like it should (eliminate debt, take care of conflicts between us and other countries) before we go and help other countries. If it isn’t our fault, then we shouldn’t worry about it until we have absolutely nothing left to do.

  216. I think that the U.S and the other world powers should only interfere in a dispute between two countries if that dispute is going to affect countries outside of the conflict, or if there’s an unusual act of cruelty happening to people within those countries. Two countries might think that their fights are only affecting them but the fighting can hurt the economy of other countries or the fighting can spread to other countries who are allied with them.

  217. The United States should not step in and be a world helper because that could ultimately just get us into more problems with other countries. Say we donate oil to Sudan, but South Sudan is jealous that we didn’t give oil to them, and they threaten us. Its best for the U.S. to worry about itself.

    • That is a great example of why we should not get involved. The only time I think we should get involved is if our country is at risk, or if out ally is involved.

  218. i think the us should but not at this moment in time because right now we need to help our selves first. what i mean by this is we are in debt, around $13 trillion in debt.so i think first we need to help our selves.

  219. I don’t think that the U.S. should try to settle anything between other countries. We are all ready in enough shenanigans with Afghanistan out in the middle east, it it wouldn’t be a smart idea to go into another war that we couldn’t handle.

  220. Should the United States look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries?

No, I think the U.S. should be a neutral country.

If you said yes, what should the United States try to do?

If you said no, why not?

I think the U.S. should stay neutral because if we become a leader in the world, we are most likely going to enter more wars. We don’t need to be in any more wars.

  221. No i don’t think we need to keep getting into all this stuff with other countries. We don’t need to help two countries out with there problems. Because it will get us into a bunch of problems with other countries.

  222. Q-) Should the United States look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries?

If you said yes, what should the United States try to do?

If you said no, why not?

A-) No, I do not think so. I say no because we have our own problems and we are already stretched thin enough with a lot of you people gone. Also this will make America a target when we are in another country, because we can’t get help to people over in a foreign nation as fast.

  223. I don’t think the United States should try to help settle deputes over any countries because they will just cause conflicts and even wars, which we don’t really need right now. We need to focus on the problems here. They can settle their own problems.

    • That is a great point. We have enough problems ourselves and we need to spend our money trying to repair our economy rather than spending it on trying to resolve conflicts between other countries.

  224. I don’t think that the U.S should help countries with their disputes. I think this because they should be able to fight or deal with their own battles. If they are having a problem where they can’t do that i think that we should help them a little but they shouldn’t be dependent on the U.S or any other country. The U.S has their own problem to worry about and i think it will just be overwhelming if we start to help other people.

  225. I think the U.S can help with some thing like give them advice on what to due but not help them military. Most people in the U.S don’t want to go to war unless they are attacking us. Also the U.S is already in a war and has other problems to deal with and starting another war would not help any of them.

  226. No, I don’t think we should try and settle disputes between other countries, unless the dispute somehow involves the United States. I think if we tried to help, it could just make it worse, both for the countries, and for us.

  227. I think that we should make our own country perfect first. I think that we should not be involved in other countries wars unless they have helped us with ours. We don’t need to lose men to help countries that don’t help us.

  228. I do and don’t think the United States should be leaders in world disputes because the bias towards one country. This would create more conflicts with more countries than we already have. I believe that if it doesn’t directly involve the U.S. or have any threat towards the U.S. we should try and avoid those situations.

  229. I don’t think the U.S. should try to settle disputes between two countries unless the fighting is very violent and endangers other countries. The U.S. should just try to keep to ourselves and let other countries fight it out. We don’t need to waste money on other countries problems.

  230. No, I don’t think that the US should help to settle disputes between other countries around the world. If we tried to help, and went to war we probably wouldn’t be getting very far. It would also take away people’s lives when the whole issue might not have even effected us much in the first place.

  231. no, i do not think the US should help settle disputes between 2 other countries because that could get us caught up in it and possibly start a war and we don’t need that, if it doesn’t affect us then we should not try to settle it.

  232. Yes, we should help other countries, because war is not going to help anything. The United States could help make a compromise and the two countries could become friendly again. If they continue being in a hostile, war-filled mood, it could not only effect their country, government, and economy. But it can also hurt the surrounding countries or countries that depend on them for importing goods, like oil or other necessities like that.

  233. I do not think the United Stated should get involved in other countries problems. We have our own here at home and we should be solving those, not trying to resolve other countries issues. If the situation is not going to directly effect us in some way don’t go and try to solve it.

  234. I don’t think that the United States should settle problems between other countries. They have nothing to do with it so the two countries can handle it themselves. I’d understand if they had a war or needed a lot of help, but its not our fight to get into.

  235. i think that the US needs to stay out of it because we are still dealing with our own problems and we don’t need to get in other countries business.

  236. i dont think we should help because it makes us weaker and makes us more vulnerable with our troops being moved to other countries to solve their problems. i think that we should only help if it is a direct threat to us

  237. No because we need to worry about the problems in our country first rather than other countries. Also, putting our people into other people’s disputes puts our people in more danger and we shouldn’t do that. Plus we don’t want to start another world war and have all the blood of the dead on our hands.

    • I agree. we are already spread thin with our military, and we don’t need to jump into another useless conflict.

      • That’s what I’m sayin! not enough mooney is going toward tq! Besides why is the U.S always getting in everyone’s biz?

  238. I don’t think the United States should try to settle something between the two Sudan’s. It isn’t our problem and they shouldn’t get involved. If the U.S were to get involved, they could make the other two angry and they might attack us our something. If it isn’t the United States’ problem, they should stay out of it and let them figure it out on their own.

  239. I do not think that the U.S. should interfere with other countries disputes.I don’t think that we should unless we are involved by the other country. we shouldn’t because if we do it could just bring up a new war between the U.S. and another country which we don’t need.

  240. I don’t think the U.S. should step in on little disputes, but when handfuls of people start dying, yes, they should be able too. When the U.S. does step in they don’t need to act bigger or better than them, they would just need to knock some sense into the two sides and be done.

  241. I think that yes, the United States should look to be leaders in the world in helping settle disputes between two countries. It would be a good thing for the United states to do, it makes us look like leaders.

  242. No, here in america, we have our own problems that we are trying to control, I believe that Africa should deal with it, not us.

  243. we could also make a country mad, and we could have problems

  244. No I don’t think we should settle fights between two differnt countrys.because its not are fight to fight.

  245. i think that the united states should help settle this between the two. but i think we should stop this without killing or hurting people but they might not want are help. I do think we should try to be the leaders in the world.

  246. I don’t think that the U.S should help. Sudan and South Sudan should just come to a new peace agreement on what to do with the oil. i don” think that they really need our help to settle the differences so it would sort of be a waste of time to try to help.

  247. I don’t think we should be going over to Sudan and helping them settle disputes. I look at it like I look at the whole Kony 2012 thing. We shouldn’t be going over to another country and trying to fix things. We need to let them handle it themselves. Everyone looks at it for the better of things and thinks it would be okay for us to go over there and try to solve their problems. We wouldn’t like it if Africa came over here and tried to solve all of the problems that the United states has. So no, we shouldn’t be going over to Sudan and helping them solve their disputes.

  248. I think that they should try to help others settle conflicts without blood shed but most of the time that is unavoidable, we are always there to help other countries in need but some countries don’t wont our help. but i think we should look to world leaders to help

  249. No i do not think the U.S should go around settling disputes in the world. It is a good idea but it would cost the government a ton of money every year. We are in a huge amount of debt right now so why put us deeper.

  250. I don’t think that the United States should be the leader of disputes between two countries in the world. It isn’t our business because it’s between South Sudan and Sudan. I think The United States needs to deal with our own problems

  251. I don’t think the United States should try to be leaders in the dispute between North and South Sudan because we have problems of are own with North Korea. So we don’t want one side of the dispute to be mad at us which could possible lead to another war and our economy can’t take that right now.

  252. I think that the U.S leaders should not help to settle problems between 2 countries because they have their own leaders for different countries to help them.

  253. I don’t think the u.s. should do it any more because we always have and it always leads to war then every one says they want world peace if the u.s. stops trying to fix everything then just maybe other country’s will see that and stop too.

  254. No I think that we need to fix our own problems first and then we can help other disputing countries we have dug our economy in a hole and we have to dig out of it.

  255. I think the United States should help with the conflict between North Sudan and South Sudan. They should go over there and just try to make them create peace with each other. Because if they don’t do something, they could still be fighting and it can cause more problems for both countries and the people who live in those two countries.

  256. I believe that the United States should leave Sudan alone. This mini war is going on because of a minor problem because of two similar countries. If the United States had joined in, and then more countries, we could cause another World War. This is not what we want after we just got our troops back home. If we leave Sudan alone, and they’re smart about their decisions, this ‘war’ could be over in a few weeks if not days. The U.S. just got all of the troops back home to end a war, and your asking “should we send them back out?” And i respond with a big no.

  257. I don’t think that they should get involved with there war or anything to do with them over there. If we try to help then we could start more debates between the too country’s. If it has nothing to do with us then we shouldn’t get involved with there problems that they are facing over there.

  258. There are leaders for that? I don’t think we should. It’s none of our business, and typically when the US gets involved in another countries business, we get into trouble and sometimes into war. What would we do anyway? No matter what we’d make at least one side angry.

  259. I don’t think that the United states should be getting involved in world disputes unless they are brought into it. Undergoing another war would only make the economy worst and more men would be dying then the war we are already in. I think the US should just stay away from the Sudan conflict and start working on that economy.

  260. No I do not think that the U.S. should be the leader of this cause it hasn’t brought anything with us in yet, so you can’t just go in there and do what you want its none of your business, let them figure this out the way that they want to.

  261. I do not think we should be helping those two countries out. We have the focus on what is happening to our country. If we do go into the war with North Sudan and South Sudan we will loose lives and if there is another country that is planning an attack on us that would be when they would do it because we wouldn’t have a good line of defense

  262. I do not think that the United States should do that, I think that those two countries with the dispute should solve it on their own. I think that all countries are independent and they do not need America to settle any disagreements for them. I also think that if the two countries do need the dispute to be settled, that there are many other countries willing to settle it.

  263. I don’t think the Untied States should get in this. Just because we have enough to worry about. And if we help then other countries will won’t help from us.

  264. No I don’t think the U.S. should look to be leaders by helping settle a dispute in two different countries. I think this because it is not the U.S.’s problem. Also we shouldn’t get into other countries business.

  265. I don’t think the United States should get involved with any other countries. We are in our own war right now. Getting involved in other countries business is a bad idea.

  266. I don’t think that the United States should even try to help with this conflict. This has nothing to do with the united states so they should stay out of it.

  267. No we should not try to be leaders and settle debates between other countries. If we upset a country we will have to go to war, and we already have enough of that. We just left Iraq, we are in Afghanistan, and then there is the Korean war, which we are sorta involved.

  268. Yes they should it should not be our problem. But we should stop trade with them until they do. We should however try to be cautious moving forward from here.

    • But think of this, we will help them with their problems, but when we need help with our problems, the nations that we helped will turn their back on us and when we are weak they will try to take us over.

  269. No, because it could lead to more war. Which would then put others in harm, also it would cause more problems with the United States. Overall it would just cause more problems.

    • If people are already losing their lives just between those two countries, our involvement would cost even more and people shouldn’t be dying like that for any reason.

  270. No because the countries can settle it and if they try anything against us then we should step in.

  271. No i don’t think the u.s should be leaders in settling disputes between two countries. Its none of our business and it may not even help at all and it could get us into another war.

  272. I don’t think that the U.S. should get involved in disputes. They could cause us more debts that would just pile on top of how much we already owe. It’s a lot like you’re everyday fights that happen, if it has nothing to do with you, then you should stay out of it. We don’t need to have anymore fights or wars on out hands at the moment.

    • That is a good point about the national debt. And I agree that we should stay out of disputes that have nothing to do with us.

  273. No, i don’t think the United States should help other countries settle their disputes because it could cause more problems. There is a possibly that we might get into another war like in Iraq. We don’t need that.

  274. No, we try to do that all over the world. In Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq. All it has done is put us deeper in debt and have thousands of Americans killed.

  275. no because the countries can settle it and if they anything against us we should step in and take care of it.

  276. yes, however the i believe that the united states shouldn’t directly involve our military unless acted upon directly. it simply costs to much and isn’t our business to get directly involved. however, via diplomacy, we can still help settle various disputes between other countries.

  277. i think that the us should let those countries do it themselves. it would be a different story if they helped us when were in need. But it seems like we help everybody else and dont get any help back.

  278. I think that they should not because it could lead us to another war. This would then put them to more harm. This also would cause more problems and this could be putting us back.

  279. I don’t think the United States should try to settle disputes between two countries because it’s not our job. I think we should focus on our own countries problems and the economy and not waste the military presence in a country far away that doesn’t need us. Other countries should be able to settle their own problems.

  280. No they shouldn’t help to countries resolve conflict. This can cause war with America. This could waste a lot of money.

  281. No i don’t think that they should help settle it. I think that the U.S. should mind their own business. If it doesn’t deal with them then they should stay out of it.

  282. i think that the united states should just worry about us and not other country’s because we already have our own wars to fight and getting involved in another one could just start something.

  283. yes we could try to tell them that war is not always the answer they could always talk it out or sign a treaty that tells them that they dont wont any thing to do with war

  284. Yes they should because they could help them and they could make a change.

    • How could they make a change? And where’s your case stating why you believe we could help and make change. In my opinion we would just add fuel to the fire, and start a bigger war that we don’t need, and can’t afford. If we keep jumping into wars and spending money, our economy will get worse, and we could go deeper into a depression.
